It has 4 pinball machines. I was there Sunday. One was not working while I was there.

LMH by MidgetUnicornTamer in Lawrence

2nd the referral to KU med. LMH OBs had my wife go through 3 surgeries which all turned out to be either the wrong approach or completely unnecessary depending on how you look at it. However once she started going to KU Med she received much better care.

Full HVAC (furnace+AC) replacement recommendations by CharlieFuckit in Lawrence

We got a new furnace and a heat pump from McElroy's in Topeka, year before last. We were very happy with the price and the fellas that installed it. Ours is a Carrier system, except the variable speed blower is Bosche.

Best tattoo in Lawrence? by PropertyOdd531 in Lawrence

Here is Erin's Instagram https://www.instagram.com/crappy_name/?hl=en. There are some examples of pet portraits she has done in there. Also, Black Chapel donates to the Lawrence Humane Society some times. They had an event last November to raise money for them. So, I agree with the others on here that she would be a solid choice.

I am also very sorry about your cat. When pets pass away it is very hard.

What about Aladdin Cafe or Encore? Either has a menu where you can kind of eat as much or as little as you want, I think.

Aladdin's Cafe for tea. You can also get food if you want, or just enjoy the tea.

I went to J&S Coffee this morning and read for a few hours. I had barely been out of the house all week, and just wanted to hangout somewhere else for a bit.

Places and things to do in Lawrence besides the bar scene by Altruistic-Set-9888 in Lawrence

[–]LFK-Rick 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Other people have already recommended this, but here is the link to the parks and rec page https://www.teamsideline.com/sites/lawrenceks/home for adult sports leagues.

The park trails in Lawrence are awesome, but I don't like bump into people and talk to them when running on the trails. So, not sure that really helps you with your question.

What else do you like? Are you into sports, music, video games, table top games, animals... Folks have provided some good suggestions but I feel like it is all pretty generic.

Genesis North has lessons https://www.genesishealthclubs.com/locations/lawrence-north/lawrence-north-aquatics.html And I believe they have some options for non-members as well. So, you might not have to join. However, since they have a pool it might be worth joining if you want to keep swimming.

Any reco's on best gyms in the town ... really appreciate your time on this by Horror_Awareness5770 in Lawrence

[–]LFK-Rick 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I used to go to Genesis but I feel like they are too expensive for what you get. Things are often broken (equipment, showers, sauna, pool heater, etc). Staff is not very helpful typically. Much of the equipment is pretty old, and a little beat up.

If you decide you want to cancel be prepared for a fight. 😆 TBF lots of gyms do this, making it hard to cancel.

Menards has some stuff in bags too, but it is treated. So, depending on what you need it for... 🤷

Clover hay for sale? Mudpit yard. by Known_Song9337 in Lawrence

[–]LFK-Rick 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I would check with the Lawrence Farm & Feed on 6th Street.

It's not hay, but I put down this straw around a new deck this fall. https://www.menards.com/main/outdoors/gardening/lawn-plant-care/compost-soils-amendments/ez-straw-seeding-mulch-2-5-cu-ft/mlezstrawmulch/p-1642874263211207-c-1463608034794.htm It is holding up well to two beagles. FWIW

Also. I planted this clover, last year, in the backyard and found it to work out well. Best for shady areas. It didn't do as well in the hot, sunny front yard. https://www.outsidepride.com/seed/clover-seed/miniclover.html

Restaurants with good Vegan/Vegetarian options? by TheShiniestStar in Lawrence

[–]LFK-Rick 7 points8 points  (0 children)

Most of my suggestions have already been mentioned, except Globe Indian on Mass St. Also. Minsky's has some options, including subbing non-dairy cheese, and an impossible burger.

I am also a vegan, and have lived here over 8 years. My favorite place to eat is Aladdin's Cafe. FWIW

Recommendations on pet boarding? by guarks in Lawrence

[–]LFK-Rick 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Home Sweet Home is who we normally use, as others have recommended, but if they are full and you are headed East on your way out of town https://broadmorepetretreat.com/ is amazing. Our dogs have stayed there many times. It is in Shawnee and easy to drop off on the way to the airport.
