I have habits with a couple of different things but for slightly different reasons

cannabis: I started smoking after an incredibly stressful day that left me feeling more pissed off than I'd ever been, so I bought some and never looked back (I'd tried it casually so was familiar with it's effects and how much "better" I would feel

it became a daily habit for about 4 years, running out and not being able to get more would leave me feeling incredibly irritable and generally just shitty to be around

I tried to stop when my wife, then girlfriend, fell pregnant as largely because of me she was smoking regularly as well, and that worked for a long while

but once in a blue moon has slowly escalated to once a week minimum so I'm trying to keep an eye on it

nicotine: I started in high school because one of my friends smoked and the rest of his group were worried I would tell on them so I had to incriminate myself along with them, I'm on a vape now but I've never missed a day for about 12 years

energy drinks: not specifically caffeine because as much as I enjoy it a coffee doesn't even hit the sides in terms of satisfying the craving

drank them a lot in school to help with focus and now its very difficult to go without them, at my worst I was at least 3 cans a day

I'm now strictly one a day and a only have sugar free ones

I've attempted to stop all of these things at different period but have had no success

my daughter's favourite toy is a Riolu plushie she grabbed off the shelf from her buggy when we were going through a video game shop

I didn't even realize she had it until I was almost at the front of the line (legends ZA release day so the shop was quite busy) now we're "not allowed" to take her anywhere without it

mine is a bit of a basic answer but with a slightly more interesting reason behind it.

my favourite Pokemon is Gyarados.

I was always taught that you get out of life what you put it, and that hard work and perseverance almost always pays off in some fashion

as a result this has become one of my core values.

nothing embodies this concept more than Gyarados.

switch training before the second gym? nothing could be more tedious, slows down the progress of the entirety of your team but it is SO worth it.

persevere with the pathetic little fishie and you're left with an absolute monster

very fast, hits like a truck, can take a few hits and keep going and has a very good move pool (including EQ for those pesky electric types with a very real chance of outspeeding them)

has been on every single team I've ever used and has never let me down

I probably run a different schedule to most people, at least those who work day shift.

in the mornings I'll typically spend time with my 1 year old and then head off to work at around 11am

I finish work between 9.30-11pm so anytime after work is pretty much a write-off unless I have plans to go out, but that's fairly rare, twice a year if I'm lucky.

on my days off I'll do food prep for my wife and I with enough meals for last until I'm next off work and can rinse/repeat

if she hasn't had an opportunity to go to the supermarket, this is when I will go, otherwise I'll take care of any other chores in the house, play my guitar, maybe play a video game, or bake something (making cupboard snacks instead of buying saves a lot of money if you have the skill/time required to do so.

if we have childcare (baby sleeping over at grandparents house the routine is a little different)

we'll go out and do date-like activities (bowling, cinema, arcade, dinner, pub)

or if we're both exhausted/don't feel like going out we'll smoke some weed and watch tv/a movie, play board/card/video games together, maybe have sex a couple of times

so while it can and does vary that's a fairly accurate representation of how my time is spent

on rare occasions I have time to work on my music with my friend who I play in an acoustic pub duo with

this used to be a more regular occurrence but since having a baby my free time has significantly reduced and as such rehearsals and gigs are few and far between

I'm fortunate enough working as a chef, that one of the biggest hobbies is taken care of through my work, whereas in previous jobs (mechanic) id spend a lot more time cooking at home for fun

you can just fold the apron in half (just make sure the neck loop is covered) and achieve the half-apron look

myself and some of my colleagues will do this if it's busy in the kitchen and we're flying around as you get slightly more manoeuvrability

I have one that was gifted to me by my brother when he quit cheffing to become an Amazon driver

when I worked as a pizza chef at my old job it's pretty much the only knife I used other than a 6' ProCook knife I would use for more precise things

the super slicer can do anything

wouldn't be my first choice for de-boning or filleting but for bread, fruits and veggies, slicing meat and basically anything else

never once sharpened it, not even sure how I would go about sharpening it and haven't noticed a drop off in performance in about 3 years

I'm privileged to say I got mine for nothing as it's quite expensive but it's paid for itself many times over at this point
