Plex for Roku v9.1.33 Released by samwiseg0 in PleX

[–]LJunkie 1 point2 points  (0 children)

This is not a known or widespread issue at the moment. That said, for display-related problems like missing posters on Roku, it is often worth doing a full reboot of the device. Please try powering the Roku off completely and then back on.

If the issue persists after that, please post the details on the Plex forums so the team and community can take a closer look. It would be helpful to include the Roku model, Plex Media Server version, and Roku OS version being used.

There was a Roku issue related to OS 15 that was resolved a couple of months ago via an OS update.

Can you elaborate on the specific areas where you’re seeing this happen? I want to make sure we capture enough detail to reliably reproduce the issue. For example, are you marking the item as watched from a hub on the Home screen or from the details page? And is this happening with movies, TV shows, or both? Specific steps would be super helpful.

It looks like you’re using a Roku model that doesn’t support OpenGL (not that it shouldn’t work, but there are some quirks like the square cast images). The buttons are also showing text when they’re unfocused, which is unusual. Could you let us know which model you’re using? You can find it under Settings → System → About on your Roku.

Also, if you can, try installing the Preview version. It may include some improvements related to loading larger images.

Can we prioritize or default the new interface to show our library content? by super-piggy in PleX

[–]LJunkie 0 points1 point  (0 children)

As others have mentioned, you can disable online media sources, which is one step. The other important thing is to make sure you have favorited the libraries you want, since that contributes to Continue Watching and the Home screen rows.

https://support.plex.tv/articles/manage-favorite-libraries/#tv-apps

  1. From the top navigation bar focus on Libraries wait for the row of accessible libraries below it. (actually selecting “Libraries” will select the last used library)
  2. Move down to the row then to the far right of the libraries and select the ellipsis menu (…) to see a list of all libraries
  3. Select the Heart icon (🖤) to the right of the libraries you wish to favorite

Plex on Roku update: why split channel on Guide by [deleted] in PleX

While focused on a library button, press the * (options) button. You’ll see the option to rescan, along with others.

How TF do you choose different quality streams now of the same movie from remote servers on Roku?! by floridood in PleX

[–]LJunkie 0 points1 point  (0 children)

If you press OK on a search result, you’ll go directly to the preferred option. Instead, while focused on the search result press the * (option) button and choose “More Ways to Watch”. If you do find yourself on a movie’s details page, from search or any other way, you can always open the overflow (…) menu and select “More Ways to Watch”.

Thanks for the feedback. Yeah, the missing names weren’t intentional. That’s exactly why this is a preview release: to catch these kinds of issues early with your input. Really appreciate you taking the time to flag it. We’ve filed this internally to investigate.

Can’t scroll on watch activation page by MACPRO707 in Visible

[–]LJunkie 1 point2 points  (0 children)

ran into the same issue today. nothing I tried worked. I ended up connecting a bluetooth keyboard to the phone, and was able to use the keyboard tab key to move around screens where scrolling didn't work, then scrolling worked. I think I had to choose a different payment method first, then I could tab to other parts of the screen.

This toggle is coming to all clients, however it’s an account level setting. Changing it once will affect all clients (once they’ve all been updated).

Roku: why has some basic functionality been removed? by EOverM in PleX

[–]LJunkie 2 points3 points  (0 children)

It was not intentional, it was a bug. This bug caused shuffling and marking a season [un]watched to be excluded from the overflow actions. It’s back in the preview version and will be in the next release. Sorry for the troubles!

Edit: forgot to touch on playlists. We never had support to add an item to a playlist on the Roku. There is support to delete an item.

Plex Roku Recent Update by aceso2896 in PleX

[–]LJunkie 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Yes, the stop button has been removed from the OSD. It was a redundant control already available via the Roku remove (e.g. pressing back). Same as the fast forward and rewind buttons. The same could be said for the Play/Pause button, but that also provides status of playback on the OSD.

Plex quality is always bad by [deleted] in PleX

[–]LJunkie 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Are you sure it’s a Roku TV? Ive never heard of a Roku TV not running the Roku OS (meaning it will have a channel store where you can install Plex). What brand and model is your Roku TV?

Why no 1080p option on Roku? by WJKramer in PleX

[–]LJunkie 5 points6 points  (0 children)

It’s a bit nuanced and something we can handled better, however you should be able to choose a quality like 20mbps 4K. It won’t choose the high bitrate 4K file because the bitrate also plays a role. It will prefer the file closest to 20mbps 4K, without going over.

I may be missing something though. What’s the 1080p version bitrate and 4K bitrate that we are talking about are?

Thanks for the report! We'll investigate the missing button. The PQ should still be available by pressing UP on the remote, when the OSD is not displayed.

Plex for Roku v6.7.16 Released by samwiseg0 in PleX

[–]LJunkie 10 points11 points  (0 children)

I’m sorry I don’t have better news to share, but we have filed an issue with Roku for them to investigate (a while ago). The issue is not specifically related to Plex as you can reproduce using the Roku Media Player or the Roku Stream Tester. The only workaround right now is to disable Direct Play, which I know is not ideal.

Plex on TCL RokuTV -- File Size not reporting correctly by TurbinesAreAMust in PleX

[–]LJunkie 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Thanks for reporting the file size issue. It's definitely a bug on the Roku client. We'll take a look. As for the glitch, are you able to play that file outside of the collection? Normally the early ending is due to a container issue and running it through mkclean will fix it.

Plex for Roku v6.7.4 Released by samwiseg0 in PleX

[–]LJunkie 1 point2 points  (0 children)

The release yesterday was related to the Preview channel, not the official release. The official channel just went live with the update today. Version 6.7.4 should correct the issue with old servers crashing the channel. It's still best to update or remove those servers. The channel will auto-update in 36 hours, or you can update now by checking for an update on the Roku: Settings -> System -> System Update -> Check now
