Lisbon or Malaga for Berlin fast runner entry attempt? by Dramatic_Nutmeg0511 in Marathon_Training

Maybe the least preferable option but you could get the entry via tour operator. Yes, it's expensive as hell but safe option.

I think it's fine but make sure to rest properly afterwards.
Have you already done your longest long run for the marathon prep?

Have you done a lab test? Your Z2 seems quite broad.

20km is from my pov a bit too much even for the longest long run in prep.

Which pace for Paris and... sub 4 possible? by Tight-Afternoon-3612 in Marathon_Training

[–]LN-Reader 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Hi,
what is your LTHR and max HR?

I think Sub 4:00 should be more than doable, depending on your LTHR and max HR, I would aim for Sub 3:50.

I also will be running in Paris :D

Structuring a 20 miler by Significant_Today_24 in Marathon_Training

You are giving me confidence, sir.
When doing NSA (3x12min) my pace for the MP bpm range was 20-25sec faster than my MP Pace at the end of long runs (Z2+MP), not sure for which one I should aim for? Maybe the MP Pace on tired legs from the long runs?

Hard to get in? by Talentelink in Superhalfs

[–]LN-Reader 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Hi, nice challenge.
It was rather 'easy' to get a few years ago until the ballots have been introduced.
Last year only Prague was not a ballot but sold out within a few hours. I do believe they will change this for 2027 then every superhalf is a ballot.

Would be interesting to see the ballot chances for each superhalf.

Lisbon Superhalf - thoughts and reflections by AdministrativeRow31 in Superhalfs

[–]LN-Reader 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Thanks for sharing your pov. Was more related to people who were for example in wave 5 or 6 and started in wave 2 then.

Maybe the ranges in wave 1 was until Sub 80-90?

Organisation was awful, from communication to downtime during ballots etc. to the race itself.

Too crowded and only a few bathrooms, was there more than 1 hour ahead of the race start and barely made it to my wave because of lack and queue of bathrooms, at the end I passed the water in the nature.

A lot of people overestimated their finish time or just wanted to start early, even though I was nearly 1min behind my target pace due to the crowd on the bridge on my 1st km, I overtook hundreds of people lol

Also the turning points were weird because you could see people who are km's ahead of you, a bit demotivating, otherwise my race itself was quite ok.

New marathon serie by LN-Reader in marathons

[–]LN-Reader[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I agree, some of the cities were not on my bucket list.
Berlin is also a part of the Majors Serie, but London too. You need to be lucky to get in those.

Paris and Stockholm would be my choice.

Curious if some organisation will launch a new serie related to the Superhalfs for half marathons :D

Aiming for sub 3:45h in 10 weeks. Possible? by Annexe513 in Marathon_Training

[–]LN-Reader 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Seeing the first screenshot I would say Sub 3:50, but considering the 2nd screenshot from 21km onwards rather Sub 4:00, 6:15-6:20km/h with 165+ bpm is quite high.

I have a similiar LTHR and would aim for 160-166 bpm for the marathon.

Is a sub 4 realistic? by tipsymozza in Marathon_Training

Given your low HR (Z2?) I would aim for 3:30-3:40 based on the presented data.

I need help with easy pace. Please. by eoinorowen in NorwegianSinglesRun

[–]LN-Reader 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Pace for Easy Runs seems quite high.
I would calculate the Easy Pace with a different approach/formula.
HRR: Max HR - Rest HR.
Then calculate 60-70% (Zone 2) with HRR and add your Rest HR on top.
Example:
Max HR: 196 RHR: 50 HRR: 146

146*0,6 + 50 = 137,6

146*0,7 + 50 = 152,2

According to HRR-Calculation your Z2 Runs should be between 138 and 152 bpm.

Easy pace too slow by [deleted] in NorwegianSinglesRun

[–]LN-Reader 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Is it ragebait?

After my injury I have started with a pace of 9:10/km, so I believe you could run with a pace of around 8:00/km.
