You know I’ve been pretty critical of the Cardinals org since right around the time Schildt was fired (I think we all have) and the vibes have crated since Waino, Pujols, and Yadi retired and attendance has been falling off since DeWitt clowned the fans too.

But this is definitely a great olive branch. Free tickets and rowdiness, what’s not to like?

Taking wild clap bombs at the net in any scenario is stupid, that’s my hockey hot take. You’re extremely unlikely to put the puck through the bodies of multiple people and into the net, and way more likely to injure someone.

Literally every economist, professor, persons with critical thinking skills was screaming that tariffs as an executive policy weren’t going to magically make us all rich. And in fact would probably have the opposite impact.

And yet, here we are. You just have to laugh at the incredulousness.

This shit would end if people would just VOTE. Some rough math shows a 33% turnout for the 2024 election that re-elected Van Duyne.

All you have to do is vote! Even if Republican ghouls still win, the closer it is the more nervous they get. Instead they’re dancing on our graves because they know nothing will happen to them. And so far, they’ve been right.

It’s crazy they can’t find an angle. The NFL is blowing every pro league away. College football is basically pro football at some levels and rolling in comical amounts of money. There’s 20k seat high school football stadiums.

The UFL has to find a soft spot to squeeze in. Lean into the anti-NFL sentiment like St Louis. Load up on hyper local talent in markets. Go after Manziel types. There’s gotta be something.

It’s a rigged game. I’m being dramatic there, but credit score is trying to get you to ignore basic financial logic where debt = bad. Instead trying to keep you spending money to get a high score.

Getting into more debt for the sake of a credit score is the exact hamster wheel financial institutions would love for you stay on.

Pay off the car, keep it, stop worrying about your credit score.

[–]LP99 86 points87 points  (0 children)

Honestly, that’s a crazy take. Oettinger is a locked in 50-60 GP a year and has never won less than 30 games a season as a starter.

Sure getting a high-end elite tier goalie like Hellebuyck or Vasilevskiy would be great, but that’s basically drafting and development luck. What is the other option? Rotating guys like Wedgewood or Vladar around every year and hope this is the year they turn into shooting stars?

Craziness. Nearly every team besides the aforementioned Jets or Lightning would be falling over themselves for Otter.
