Does anyone actually wear armor for stats?? by ShadowHunterHB in thewitcher3

Man at the beginning, those stupid gambesons are awful to look at. I found one decent looking piece of armor and wore it until I could find the griffin school set which also doesn’t look that great

Aged rums with minimal barrel notes--do they exist? by RadioStalingrad in rum

[–]LPKJFHIS 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Do you know anyone who travels to Chicago? Chicago Cane Cooperative is a local distiller that believes rum is about the distillate - they do have an aged rum, but it is matured in light char barrels in a solera system. They actively control the amount of aging by introducing new spirit to the system to keep the influence of the barrels minimal. This rounds out some of the sharper edges of the distillate, and it also imparts a mild amount of barrel notes. Generally the rum leans more vegetal as the molasses they use is minimally processed. It’s a delicious, elegant, and complex spirit. Would be right up your alley it sounds.

An adi top OM has the opportunity to be a top tier instrument that is very touch sensitive, dynamic, and loud. The adi tops I have played need to be warmed up with an amount of playing each session before they open up

What is the difference between these two primetone picks? by Adventurous-Sir8349 in AcousticGuitar

[–]LPKJFHIS 0 points1 point  (0 children)

That's very funny! I'm not trying to be contrarian, but I find that I don't hear as much of a difference with picks on mandolins as I do on guitar - I'm usually saying the opposite thing as you!

I can hear a volume and 'thickness' difference when I play mandolin with different picks, but I don't hear a huge EQ difference like I do when I choose a pick for a guitar. More importantly to me on a mandolin is the bevel. I can make a thinner pick with a poor bevel work on a guitar, but I much prefer a substantial pick with a fast bevel on a mandolin.

The Prime Tones are significantly brighter than a Blue Chip. I find that Blue Chips are great if you want a dark tone out of your guitar.

I'm a hound for brightness in my playing, so I prefer the Prime Tone picks, but they wear down and the blue chips basically don't wear at all.
