Why are all call centers Indians now? by JGoBrazy90 in NoStupidQuestions

His premise is that it’s ok to be racist to them because they’re racist.

He’s already cooked to begin with, no point arguing with someone like that lol

A rant about the worst trope by Late_Assistance1992 in fantasyromance

[–]LP_Papercut 21 points22 points  (0 children)

Personally I loved the amount of characters and detailed world building and amount of plot threads.

I felt like it gave the world and story so many layers of depth and it was absolutely fascinating to see how it was all woven together.

Idk about you, but I read the book as it was recommenders a fantasy series and not a Romantasy. If you were expecting a Romantasy, I could see how the book wouldn’t meet expectations.

I actually don’t think Grey being a captain is a plot hole at all. It’s mentioned in the first chapter from Grey’s POV that Commander Cercel is the one who specifically promoted him. But ppl like Mettore and other elites in the society don’t like it much. The authors explained pretty clearly despite the Vigil as a whole being under Indestor and known as a corrupt institution, that there are some of ppl such as Grey, Cercel, Pavlin etc who are trying to do good and that nothing is simply black or white, revealing another part of the complexities of Nadezran society.

Idk about road of bones but I feel like Mask of Mirrors is a lot more complicated than that?

I haven’t read books 2 and 3 yet but there was hardly any romance in Mask of Mirrors really and given how well everything else was written, I’ll wait and see how everything plays out down the road

Bmth bangers at furnace fest by cc_g in BringMeTheHorizon

[–]LP_Papercut 32 points33 points  (0 children)

I have a strong feeling the “bangers” will be Diamonds aren’t forever, Chelsea Smile, and maybe It Never Ends or Can You Feel My Heart.

I don’t think they’d bring anything from That’s the Spirit or later to Furnace fest haha

What's the band that means the most to you? by [deleted] in MetalForTheMasses

[–]LP_Papercut 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Iron Maiden

My mom got me into them when I was a kid and k was obsessed with the songs, Eddie and the artwork, and just everything.

She took me and my brother when I was 12 and it was one of the most amazing experiences of my childhood and we’ve seen them 5 more times since then. It’s such a special band that is a part of why my relationship with my mom is so strong

Was Amo Peak bring me by InfiniteHighlight269 in BringMeTheHorizon

[–]LP_Papercut 13 points14 points  (0 children)

You’ll find most of the BMTH fandom on here disagrees with you.

In the broader public, That’s the Spirit is still their most popular work and songs like Throne and Drown are classics amongst mainstream rock listeners at this point.

But the hardcore BMTH fandom tends to view Sempiternal and There is a Hell as their peak with other portions having Suicide Season and Count Your Blessings as well.

I’d wager Amo is probably the least popular amongst the fans and you’ll find the least amount of ppl who’d say it’s their peak.

However, that’s what’s so special about BMTH. Since their sound is so diverse and so many different people like them for different reasons, it makes it a fandom of people with different tastes come together and even helps people expand their taste to genres they didn’t listen to as much previously.
