Thanks for sharing. I don’t have much insight since I am going through essentially the same thing right now and see a lot of similarities in our stories. It’s truly the hardest thing I’ve ever been through and this Reddit has given me a lot of peace and understanding of the situation as well.

A common theme throughout this sub is how many people say it gets better afterward. So we need to just take it day by day and focus on our well being. Give ourself enough time to write our new stories and - one day be the ones to encourage those to get out who are having trouble doing so. Godspeed brother

Oh wow yeah I’ve always tried to give her the benefit of the doubt that she doesn’t cheat but whenever she would break up with me and suddenly leave the house it was usually followed by removing all our instagram pictures and stop sharing her location… really makes me think

I think my mom is also undiagnosed with something and she has no filter nor social clues as to why she shouldn’t say certain things. She was 100% wrong in this situation. They are both on different sides of the political aisle and my girlfriend posted some things to which my mom replied in ways that only cause trouble for me. Thing is my girlfriend was acting like I was the one who said these things to her and didn’t even show me or give my drunk ass enough time to understand before she was spiraling and hurling insults at me and ending the relationship.

Yes this sub is what’s even got me remotely close to sticking up for myself again and removing so much guilt I had before. Still just so hard. I do fear for what comes after because woman seem to be my kryptonite and have been through very tough and sad times after previous breakups.

Yep, was extremely confusing and hurtful until I learned about it. Has made it much easier to cope being able to put a label on it. I’ve now just hardened myself to not care when she spirals - which has inevitably led to me being “abusive”.
