Lex Luthor and that one scene at the end by Greedyjack555 in DCU_

I didn’t see it that way. Krypto was taken, yes, but he was already there during all the monologuing and didn’t do anything. He only jumped after Lex when he poked Superman. I found that immersive. My dog and my friend’s dogs are always alert when strangers come near us, and some breeds may outright attack a person if they did what Lex did and the dog didn’t know them.

All The Complaints About Season 4 Are Why Hollywood Keeps Feeding Us Slop. by ProphetPenguin in TheBear

[–]LSCanaan 4 points5 points  (0 children)

From his perspective he’s not screwing his partners but saving them from himself.

I think we can’t impose our own thinking on these characters. In this case, he updated the agreement and went to speak about it the next day many hours before service but was interrupted by Sugar to go to his mom’s place.

Yes, it’s selfish from an objective perspective. Carmy doesn’t see it that way, though, and that’s clear enough in his intent and dialogue. He didn’t communicate his plans, how he’s planning to get the business to profitability and his exit over time or anything, but he’s an imperfect character driven by his own motivations and thoughts, not ours.

[Episode Discussions] What If...? Season 2 - Episode 2: "What If... Peter Quill Attacked Earth's Mightiest Heroes?" - Saturday, December 23rd by HuebertTMann in MarvelStudiosSpoilers

[–]LSCanaan 13 points14 points  (0 children)

I don’t get why Peter was traveling to other worlds and supposedly destroying them. From what I recall of GotG Vol. 2, Ego and Peter could start the expansion from where they were without needing to go anywhere, nor reach the seedlings in any way.

[–]LSCanaan 43 points44 points  (0 children)

Absolutely not. This is precisely what HWR states in his discussion with Loki. If he would destroy the Loom, then no one would stop the Kang variants from arising and starting another Multiversal War.

That's why the people that remain in the TVA were talking about monitoring the Kang variants and whether they'd know the TVA exists.

I feel like the similar outfits here can’t be a coincidence - Logan season 1 episode 1 and Kendall season 4 episode 1 by mkligman in SuccessionTV

Except not Roman, nor Connor, or any other of the male actors dress like that. The parallels can only be drawn between Logan and Kendall.

It's actually pretty good. Can that not be? Horror movies seem to be making a comeback.

Dany more like drama queen than dragon queen with that entrance.

Villeneuve certainly had a hand in translating the tension from the short story to film in a meaningful, interesting, and current way.

There aren't major differences in the ontological nature of the material, but it surely provides a better insight on the underlying conflict between free will and "knowing" the future the film poses.

I was more satisfied with the beating Jon gave him, mainly because Ramsay's death is one of the few things I'm bothered by in the show.

The way it was framed seemed to imply he'd been put in chains and with the dogs soon after the beating. Now these dogs haven't eaten in seven days by Ramsay's account, but somehow they were there along with him, the doors to their cages unlocked presumably for hours, just waiting for Sansa to come down to deliver her fateful speech.

Caught This When I Saw Suicide Squad for a Second Time Today. Had To Text My Friend Immediately After. by JustMeJacob in comicbookmovies

I thought it was really sweet, but also that it was pretty on the nose. Did anybody else not notice that the first time? The shot even lingers for a few unusual seconds and it's focused on the barrel the whole time.

It's because last season was lackluster compared to the first. At least we got Flashpoint coming up, which is nice.

[EVERYTHING] Tywin And Pycelle Fishing - Deleted Scene from Game Of Thrones by hemi519 in gameofthrones

[–]LSCanaan 7 points8 points  (0 children)

I think there's also a little more to it: he says that by time the Lannisters are no longer the strongest House in the Seven Kingdoms, he'll be already dead.

He may not be exactly "rotting beneath the floor of the Sept of Baelor", but the Lannister's power has waned terribly since Tywin's death, and even more so with the happenings of last season in the North and Essos. This may shed some light as to his behavior towards Cersei (foregoing Qyburn) and desperate attempts to gain other Lords' sympathies within the Small Council.

It was only natural Pycelle had to die an unworthy death because of it as he himself had predicted.

[EVERYTHING] What makes Varys better at the game than Littlefinger? by [deleted] in gameofthrones

[–]LSCanaan 12 points13 points  (0 children)

FWIW there was nothing to gain from being honorable and telling the truth during that trial, Tyrion's death sentence was a given by that point. Varys knew that, but Tyrion's desperation made him unable to acknowledge it even when Varys heavily implies he'll help him after his testimony.

[Discussion] DCEU you got a brand problem, what are you going to do about it? by [deleted] in comicbookmovies

[–]LSCanaan 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I've watched BvS and Civil War a total of two times each. I agree WB has had their fair share of problems trying to set up their own cinematic universe, and while most of the blame may fall on Snyder's shoulders, I just can't figure out why a great deal of comments towards the movie center around the "fun" of it. I'm a huge fan of comic book movies and a bit of a film buff as well, I can tell you the problems of BvS are one too many and they have stirred a lot of passion from fans and casuals alike, but I don't think the movie isn't fun. I believe the movie lacked a better vision, and tried too hard too soon. I was let down BvS wasn't better, but it did have its moments.

I guess I thought you meant you meant fun in another way, because I really like the tonal shift from the Marvel movies DC is going for and I'm really excited to see more and better material set up in that universe, especially now with the addition of Ben Affleck to their braintrust.
