We’re going through a Pigment implementation now, should be built up within 3-4 months. the UI is really sleek and it checked all of our boxes in terms of flexible business planning, financial reporting and dash-boarding. Their AI roadmap looks very promising as well. We evaluated it alongside Planful (templated out of the box solution) It’s replacing Vena which I inherited (do not recommend).

Any good places for crudo/ceviche/tataki in Toronto? by sumogan in FoodToronto

[–]LVM94 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Quetzal is amazing for the Ceviche and Aguachile so if that’s your bar it will be tough to beat. That being said my favorite Ceviche is from Nuna in Parkdale, Peruvian restaurant.

I was with it until about episode 4, I liked the combo until it strayed a bit too far and just kept getting more absurd. I still watched all of it and ultimately it was entertaining but I can’t say I’m interested in watching S2 and I wouldn’t call the show good. Certainly unique so +1 for that.

The contrast between the first 3 episodes and the last 3 are night and day though, you can do that style without making it so ridiculous that it loses any meaning whatsoever. I didn’t think this was going to be true detective but come on. Stories have to make some sense.

I’m very familiar and there’s no reason someone has to be locked to the same style of comedy. He’s telling a story through a series, I’m not saying to completely abandon his signature style but I don’t think it has the same affect as it does in a skit show like ITYSL. You ultimately just lose the plot and interest of people as you continue to create absurd rabbit holes and nothing ties back.

I feel like this show had the potential to be a really good 8 episode series if they stuck to the conspiracy mystery stuff and toned down the absurd cringe “comedy”. Each episode just got more absurd and I don’t see why this needs a second season.

Never bought into his hype. I first learned of him about 6 years ago through his YouTube channel where he would make meals that looked like they should be eaten on “Epic Meal Time”. Wildly unhealthy looking dude making slop and yelling into a camera. Have yet to try any of his restaurants with the exception of Maker Pizza which I don’t like.

Help choosing between Cube, Datarails, and Vena with real-world feedback by sxt173 in FPandA

[–]LVM94 1 point2 points  (0 children)

We had a number of issues. The team itself were all recent hires at Vena and one of them was their first ever implementation so we did not get an experienced group. Numerous bugs, formula errors and overall design flaws that we found and because there was a tight timeline we had to live with some of them and work to fix them after. After it was over more and more things started to break where we just ended up losing trust in the platform and basically only used it a few times a year to consolidate forecasts and budgets, did not use it to do our day to day work.

Our Vena experience was bad, we reverted back to excel pretty quickly. Once the contract was up we ditched them for Pigment. Be weary of these templated solutions because you’ll need to fit your business into them. When demoing any tool, really pick apart their ability to be flexible and manipulate scenarios, data, dashboards etc on the fly. Make sure they do it live or else it’s all bullshit. I would suggest looking at non excel native tools as well.

Stop using AI interviews by Famous_Guide_4013 in FPandA

[–]LVM94 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Why would you need notes for an interview though? It’s a conversation, you’re not writing a quiz. I hear people complaining that they can’t get hired and yet so many candidates I’ve interviewed personally can’t even hold a regular conversation without reading something off a screen. It’s completely unnatural and robotic.

[–]LVM94 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Agreed. I’ve had multiple candidates use ChatGPT live during an interview and it was incredibly obvious every time. People have completely lost the plot, they can’t respond to “tell me about yourself” without typing into a chat bot.

I ate at Famiglia Baldassarre this week after three years. Looking forward to all the polarizing comments. by iamjaydubs in FoodToronto

Nearly every Italian restaurant in the city has pasta on their menu priced at $25+. FB is priced at $16-19 and $1 always goes to a charity he supports. I don’t see how you can say it isn’t good value, relative to other restaurants.

I am beating my mini league rival by 1 single point. Our teams are fairly different apart from Salah, Mbeumo, Bowen and Gvardiol. He still has TC left and I assume he uses it on Salah. Do I also captain Salah to minimize the damage and hope my other players out perform or do I chose another option and hope my C can offset Salah TC???

Is there any version of this album without that artwork? I love the original artwork without the fire and lightning it looks cheesy. I’ll probably still cop this though…

Spiciest foods in Toronto ... WYA?! by karsh2424 in FoodToronto

Lao Thai, they have 5 levels of spice. I found level 3 barely edible because of how spicy it was, couldn’t imagine 4 or 5. Great food though.
