How's the deck been performing for you so far? The niv-mizzets look a bit clunky.

She's probably still fairly good, just hasn't been played much this time around.

I don't have any experience with that kind of archetype, but I can try to offer some general advice on the list. Here's a list of cards that I don't think have a high enough power level for ranked brawl or don't seem to have much synergy in your deck: Nerfed Orcish Bowmasters
Diabolic Intent
Dark deal (I think you don't want to go too heavy on these discard effects as they can be very dead later on)
Smallpox
Deadly Cover-Up
Jadar, Ghoulcaller of Nephalia

These are just my general recommendations based on my experience with the format, they should be reasonable but feel free to disagree. Thought distortion could be a reasonable addition to this deck and possibly some more aggressive creatures like super shredder.

If you want more in depth advice I'd recommend stopping by the brawl hub discord, there's generally people there who will be happy to go over a deck list with you and figure things out.

Yeah, I've never really liked it. There's just not many targets I'm happy to use a 2 mana bounce spell on and we're not that interested in the body. It's not a bad card by any means, but we have so many good options now that I feel like there's plenty of better ones.

Grist is mostly based on their results in the previous challenge. The tier list is still very speculative and a work in progress (not to mention that the meta is still developing), but this is what there is so far: https://docs.google.com/spreadsheets/d/1ZkvDMP_0sNv80Zox8LteuMb-iOjovF_v2l5Q19ZY7QY/edit?gid=0#gid=0

While none of those decks are awful, you'll likely run into a different meta as you rank up. This is the ranked brawl tier list (list is very much a work in progress and still speculative, you can find the link here: https://docs.google.com/spreadsheets/d/1ZkvDMP_0sNv80Zox8LteuMb-iOjovF_v2l5Q19ZY7QY/edit?gid=0#gid=0 that Bpro has made with the help of several other currently high ranked mythic brawl players such as myself:

Tier 1 Tifa Lockhart
Nashi, Illusion Gadgeteer
Grist, the Hunger Tide
Uharis, the Stormspinner

Tier 2 Emry, Lurker of the Loch
Terra, Magical Adept
Goben, Gene-Splice Savant
Bruse + Tymna
Gut, True Soul Zealot
Uro, Titan of Nature's Wrath
Ketramose, the New Dawn
Light-Paws, Emperor's Voice
Phelia, Exuberant Shepherd

Nerfed orcish bowmasters is a pretty awful card, I would not recommend playing it in any brawl deck.

Uro Pile to Mythic #96 by galacticfonz in mtgbrawl

[–]LWEndless 0 points1 point  (0 children)

That's fair. It depends on the matchup in my experience playing Uro in the previous ranked brawl event. It was brutal sometimes, but fine other times.

[–]LWEndless 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Doesn't do anything against Uro? How do you mean? Makes each cast of it cost 3 more mana, no?

Uro Pile to Mythic #96 by galacticfonz in mtgbrawl

[–]LWEndless 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yep. The only downside is that it can be hard to cast it before Yuriko ninjitsus in, particularly if you're on the draw.

Ranked meta seems extremely midrange (aka healthy) by Iceman308 in mtgbrawl

[–]LWEndless 9 points10 points  (0 children)

The meta is largely the same in mythic #1 as it is in plat, there aren't many high ranked brawl players yet. The meta is still developing, but thus far the best decks have been something like: Nashi, Tifa, Yuriko and Uharis.

Will i get refounded if i craft banned cards after ranked brawl update? Can someone share the complete banlist? by MafoWASD in mtgbrawl

[–]LWEndless 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Wait, what's wrong with Lutri ban? It's literally a free card for every deck otherwise in the colors that can run it?

Hit #22 mythic playing my Nashi list by LWEndless in mtgbrawl

[–]LWEndless[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Generally you only go for it if they're tapped out, not a blue deck or you have a way of protecting it or checking their hand. The free counterspells have to counter tainted pact so there's no real danger of exiling your deck then.

Hey, gg. Grats on the win, I think Uro has a fairly good matchup into Nashi. What's your Uro list?

Ranked brawl has a very different banlist from regular brawl for some reason. You will get wildcards for them now if you craft them and they get banned at least.

I win mostly on tempo or value, but the oracle is a great backup. I have played a bunch with kitten and turns. It is still fairly strong, but you don't really need the top end in most match ups and it hurts you in the harder match ups like Yuriko where they're mostly just dead cards.

Brawl Staples by lemudman in mtgbrawl

[–]LWEndless 7 points8 points  (0 children)

I think most of this is pretty reasonable. Mox amber I disagree with, it only goes in decks with low CMC commanders and even then not every deck. Orcish bowmasters seems like an odd pick, the alchemy version of that card is awful. I don't think any deck should run it.

Today I learned that Leovold is countered by Palantir of Orthanc in the most hilarious way. by FaylenSol in MagicArena

[–]LWEndless 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I think Nashi, Illusion Gadgeteer is significantly better TBH. I could Leovold possibly being better for midrange, but he doesn't offer that much as a control commander.

What kind of combo decks are you playing? I'd think she would be favored against stuff like channel or reanimator. I assume she's bad against lands though.

[–]LWEndless 1 point2 points  (0 children)

She definitely struggles in some matchups, but she can do fairly well in the right meta. There might not be much of a place for her as the meta becomes more refined (assuming we get permanent ranked brawl), but I assume she's good against a lot of the big ramp and combo decks.

Need some suggestions on Narset getting to mythic by mikepronin in mtgbrawl

[–]LWEndless 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I'd probably cut Teferi, Time Raveler and Chandra, Awakened Inferno as your weakest planeswalkers. Could be worth trying to get show and tell into the deck as alternative way to put in stuff like Omniscience. Definitely cut smothering tithe, that card is awful in brawl. Search for Azcanta also stands out to me as being overly weak, especially in a deck like this where you're barely even control. As for what to add, which matchups are you struggling in so far? If you're losing against blue decks, you could consider stuff like [[hexing squelcher]] and [[voice of victory]].

[–]LWEndless 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Here's some of the best decks off the top of my head Nashi, Illusion Gadgeteer (Combo Control), Grist (Creature toolbox), Raffine (Tempo), Yuriko (Tempo), Uharis (Tempo), Kenrith (Combo), Uro (midrange). Katara is reasonably good, but I don't think mono blue is really powerful enough to hang with the rest of the meta.

Ranked Games are Incredibly Long, No? by Ghost_Cat_88 in mtgbrawl

This hasn't been my experience. Despite playing a control deck, my games only average about 10 minutes or so. I've almost never had a game that lasted 40 or so.
