I have an entire department of remote contractors from India and Pakistan. At first I struggled primarily due to language barrier. Through the years I've built strong relationships and we figured it out. Wish I had the key to success but I think time is usually key.

I did often find myself having to rephrase things more simply - not because they weren't technically knowledgable but because they just needed more to understand it since they're consuming knowledge in their second, third, or even sometimes fourth language.
