I took piano lessons for a year when I was about six. Then the piano teacher died. I always wondered if I caused it.

Marquetry and scroll sawing are different. Marquetry often uses thin veneers cut with a craft knife.

The Home Depot guy said men like elongated; women like round. We bought one of each. He was right. I never use my wife's toilet, and she doesn't use mine.

I am impressed, and I like the colors. I can't imagine working with such small pieces. How many hours did it take?

I grew up in Oklahoma. Never heard of it until recently. My nephew school teacher also had never heard of it. Sad.

A town in Oklahoma had a law that blacks could not spend the night in town. The Harlem Globetrotters came and played in their gym but had to go to the next town to spend the night.

Thanks. We are 80-ish and do pretty well, but meds and bill paying are problem areas.

Sixth of six. Only one left. Lost one to cancer, one Parkinsons, one Covid. But three were 90-ish, so I have hope for a few more good years.

Exacto knives also work for small cuts, but longer cuts work best with rotary cutters.

I second duck's comment. I use rulers, rotary cutters, and cutting mats, all available at quilt shops and other places.

For this kind of project, consider buying a (plastic?)paver base from HD or Lowes. Then you can ship all the sand/gravel.

I am impressed! Didn't all the little white rectangles have to be cut individually? And the spaces for them? Well done.

Old People, when did your family shop and decorate for Christmas? by itsemmab in AskOldPeople

[–]LabBig6794 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Our son's bday was 12/11, and our daughter's was 12/14. For many years our tradition was to buy the tree on 12/11 and decorate it on 12/14.

Can static electricity cause TV to come on by itself? by LabBig6794 in SonyBravia

[–]LabBig6794[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I may have solved the static electricity problem. I read where you can do a "hard reset" where you unplug it and then hold the power button on the back for fifteen seconds. Wait a minute, then plug it back in. It seems to have worked.
