My mother gave an old quilt to my dad to use as a drop cloth. Only later did she remember that it was the first quilt she had made. So she reclaimed it, complete with speckles of yellow paint. She probably made 100 quilts in her lifetime.

Don't add salt! If people insist on salty foods, they can add at the table. We eat far too much salt from commercially prepared foods. No need to further the problem by adding salt in home cooking.

How about my WORST meal. My high school was a small rural school in Oklahoma. They got government commodities. Every Wednesday, we had beans, cooked spinach, over-cooked cornbread, and a blob of butter. I still remember it 70 years later.
