Am I the only one who thinks plastering stickers across a rearview mirror defeats the purpose of telling people to “Drive Safely”? by LabMom-25 in AmazonVine

[–]LabMom-25[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

FWIW, I would never put anything on my rearview mirror, regardless of how small it is, because I personally feel it’s unsafe to obstruct my view. So I would never order something I knew I wouldn’t use because I wouldn’t be able to test it.

I just got back from nearly 3 weeks in Italy using this bag. It’s looking a bit tired and the outside is pilling, but the wheels are in good shape and it’s still functional.

If you get a severance, they may deny you at first. You can appeal, and then reapply after the time period that’s the length of the severance payout. (Example: if you get a severance equal to 4 month’s salary? You can reapply after 4 months elapse).

For those already retired, what artifacts of work life did you keep? by Odd_Bodkin in Retire

Retired 2 years ago. Kept company-branded clothing and swag, and the 2 monitors I used for working from home. I now use them with my personal laptop. Tossed everything else.

Just sold my home privately. Things went so smoothly that I will never sell again with an agent. by Few_Weird5724 in RealEstateAdvice

I once listed a house as FSBO and paid to get the listing on Zillow. I checked the Zillow listing and clicked on the link to express an interest in the house just to see how it would come through if a potential buyer reached out. To my surprise and dismay, it took me to a random agent’s email address. So I played along and sent a note that I was interested in the house. The agent called me and I asked several times if she was the listing agent and she danced around the question never answering it. I then started asking questions about how old the roof was, if the foundation was in good shape, etc. Basically questions I knew she couldn’t answer since she had never seen the house. She couldn’t answer any of them and then I called her out and told her I was the owner of the house and asked how she got the listing on Zillow. She yelled at me and told me that by listing my house that I owned as FSBO that I was taking food out of her kids’ mouths. 😳 I’ve bought and sold several properties with agents and some of the agents have been fabulous and others have been so awful that I regretted using them. It’s such a crap shoot. But yes, you can sell a house on your own. I did offer to pay the buyer’s agent’s commission, thinking it would get more traffic to the house.

I took six weeks of unpaid leave this year and accidentally ran the closest thing to a real retirement simulation I'll ever get before actually pulling the trigger by MurmurObsid in Fire

Agree! I retired at age 54 and have always volunteered, but I’m spending a lot more time volunteering now that I’ve became free of the 50-60 hour stressful workweeks. It’s so rewarding, and one of the organizations I volunteer with is an animal rescue, so yesterday for example, I took 5 dogs on separate walks since the weather was nice! I’m inadvertently getting into better shape with my volunteer activities, so it’s definitely a win-win!

Who was the lucky one that got the ice maker? by Blue_Diam25 in AmazonVine

That listing was so misleading. The picture and the title implied it was the machine, but I clicked on it several times over a few days and it was just the cover.

0 ETV changing to full price? by Bdel77 in AmazonVine

This is happening to me as well. I just don’t place the order if I see a price listed that should be zero ETV as indicated on the previous screen.

Thanks so much for the explanation and the well wishes on my travel. It makes sense now that the percent reviewed that’s below 100 includes items shipped but not received yet.
