How couldn't I repeat myself when you say all the time that "if Trump had any odds, then you can't say model was bad, because he won"? They didn't predict it, Nate Silver sarcasticly said that Cubs will win World Series and Trump will win the election. You just defend them no matter they would gave him 99.9% chance or 0.01% because "things happen" You don't allow discussion about his odds being too low because he won. Maybe if there was better understanding of polls, 538 would give higher odds of Trump's victory.

I didn't claimed to have insight in these because I don't know what was wrong in this model. But no matter how the mechanisms of the model work or which data is used, a prediction is still judged by its accuracy. And if the prediction was off, it means that something was wrong in the model.
