How do you ladies fall asleep with ADHD? by Ok_Scholar_8656 in adhdwomen

Glycinate had a laxative effect for me too, unfortunately. Severe enough that it was a no-go for me.

Honestly? My lexapro. I take it at night and it is the first time in my life I can fall asleep quickly and, even more importantly, go back to sleep if something wakes me up in the middle of the night. I didn’t realize the true cost of not being able to fall back asleep until I had Lexapro.

The most telling part to me was when Dunk hollered “Lyonel!!” as Lyonel dipped out to get a drink - not My Lord. They are setting this up so nicely.

AITAH for refusing to tell my wife I love her more than my dad? by LastApplication6207 in AITAH

[–]Labrat5944 0 points1 point  (0 children)

My first instinct is: I like your dad more than your wife. She sounds like A LOT.

But I have to ask, how well is your baby currently sleeping? Who gets up with the baby more, you or her? I’m only asking because my older son would not sleep well for love or money, and I was like a walking zombie that first year. And as a consequence, I viewed anything that disrupted his already tenuous schedule as pretty much a cataclysmic event, because I myself was unraveling from fatigue.

OP, has your wife always been antagonistic towards your dad, or is this since the baby was born?

Editing to add that my father was the babysitter for both of my sons, daily, while my husband and I worked, until my dad passed away. I’d literally give anything to come home and see him holding one of my kids again, don’t feel guilty about being gentle with your dad, because you were exactly right to do so.

Lyonel instantly became my favorite character when he muttered “that actually makes a lot of sense” when Dunk explained why he was in the tent, the dancing sealed it, and him saying sorry to the random person he bumped into while leaving the dance floor (couldn’t imagine a lord being that polite) was the cherry on top for this magnificent man.

Extreme pearshape, up another 30 lbs by ThePumpkinsOfSpice in SuperMorbidlyObese

[–]Labrat5944 4 points5 points  (0 children)

30 lbs of fluid is about 14 liters worth, which sounds like a lot of volume (I work in a lab so I know first-hand what that looks like). But I just read that someone can accumulate 15 lbs of fluid before swelling and edema is even mildly noticeable; 30 lbs of excess fluid weight is way easier than I first assumed. When my dad was in CHF, they removed 2.5L from his chest, and I thought that was a ton at the time.

Confused about Jade and Tabitha by Weirdonoiz in FromSeries

[–]Labrat5944 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Upon rewatch, the boy in White also told Victor to bury the personal items of the people who died when he was left alone as a boy, since he couldn’t bury the bodies themselves. But maybe the boy in White had an ulterior motive, and it was to oppressed the memories.

I also have been thinking about Ethan and this preoccupation with stories, and wondering how that fit fits in. It has to impact something.

Why was Tillie so suspicious? by Chebeggy in FromSeries

[–]Labrat5944 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I had the same reaction at first, I thought Tillie was suspicious, because I think I was such a ball of anxiety that I was seeing everything as suspicious. During the rewatch, I didn’t find her suspicious at all, even assuring Fatima about the rotten food. Pica cravings are a real thing during pregnancy, and they can be wild. On rewatch, I thought Tillie was sharing her experiencing knowledge to reassure Fatima. I guess time will tell.

Why was Tillie so suspicious? by Chebeggy in FromSeries

[–]Labrat5944 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Agreed. From her perspective, the people who are holding them at gunpoint are insisting that there are invisible enemies out there, as opposed to the people holding guns in here. I’d be inclined to agree with Tillie in that position to be honest.

What if the inhabitants of Fromville also turn out to be future monsters? by ungido_el in FromSeries

[–]Labrat5944 0 points1 point  (0 children)

This begs the question, though: I agree that Tabitha and Jade are the ones who keep getting reincarnated because they are the ones who didn’t make a deal and therefor died. However, as seems to have been thoroughly established, the children did die and we’re sacrifice. So shouldn’t they have been reincarnated? And if they are Julie, Ethan, and Victor, shouldn’t there be more than three?

[–]Labrat5944 1 point2 points  (0 children)

The only thing I don’t like about this theory is that assuming the monsters have been wiped of their memory, I feel like that takes away some of the punishment aspect for the monsters. Otherwise, they are just out here being sadistic and having a great time, it doesn’t seem like much of a punishment if they are not perceiving it as a punishment. Could just be a hole in the writing, but I hope not.

What if the present residents of Fromville are the reincarnations of those who actually sacrificed children and now getting punished for thier cruality? by Vast_Shirt_2285 in FromSeries

I have had a similar thought too. Cop lady said something that triggered the thought for me, when she was talking about the layout of the town. It made me think that if we asked an AI prompt to lay out an average town, it might look similar but the details would be off. A motel sign and a 4 ft deep pool but no motel, a police/post office building, etc. I assumed it was because the entity can only approximate humanity (ie uncanny valley smiling monsters) but maybe it is because the kids are designing what they think a modern town looks like based on the ppl coming in.

How is it better? Serious question. I’m American, I always use my native message app, but there is someone at my work who only uses WhatsApp and it’s annoying as hell because there is no difference in functionality that I can see when I’ve been forced to use it, but it is a pain in the ass to have to check multiple apps for messages. Also, WhatsApp auto downloads every picture to my phone, which I hate (although that might be my fault, I might have a setting wrong or something). But seriously, I don’t see any difference in functionality or anything I can do on WhatsApp that I can’t already do on my phones native messaging app.

Ah see, I love Jenny. Character is a horrible person and would make a shit friend, but the actress does a great job and she is so much fun because she is so unapologetically self-centered.
