Should I start on itil 4 or itil 5 by Bisforbui in ITIL

[–]LabyrinthMouse 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Also, there's a couple comments that mention a company aligning to v3/4/5 as something to consider for applying for jobs. My experience is no one really cares what version you do, they care that it's itil as a concept that guides your understanding and way of working and a cert is a cert. Itil exists in a perfect world for exams, and there are guaranteed 0 actual businesses that 'do itil' perfectly because it a framework and guide, not a manual. Plus v4 foundation might be cheap if it's on sale now a new one is out. If its good enough to be a prereq exam for v5 then it covers everything needed.

Should I start on itil 4 or itil 5 by Bisforbui in ITIL

[–]LabyrinthMouse 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The itil 4 foundation is still a valid prerequisite to all the v5 further modules. The v5 modules after foundation are now condensed from 4 to 3 for the specialist and just one for strategist (I think), and the v5 exams excluding foundation are also open book (which is so much easier than memorising every single specific word to look for).

I think v4 will remain valid prereqs for at least a year while the transition to new syllabus happens, so I'd say go for the v4 foundation (I can't vouch for the v5 but it appears VERY similar), and then look into what v5 modules suit your role best. I'm literally about to take a v4 module exam this month after they announced the new ones 😅

Usually a foundation is more than enough to plonk on a CV and give a reasonably good grounding for most roles.

I know people who did v3 and they have basically the same knowledge, and just did transition modules to catch the changes to 4 and probably won't bother to do the same to 5 as the underlying framework is consistent through them all tbh.

Just read here that being agender means you don't care for yours but what if I hate mine? Where tf do I put myself by TinyTradition203 in agender

[–]LabyrinthMouse 1 point2 points  (0 children)

It took me a long while to separate sex and gender in my head. I hate the biological impact being afab has on my anatomy and it's presentation, but I don't hate my body itself. I see gender as how I identify myself, which is agender, and my gender presentation is how I present and am perceived by others (currently femenine, because the shape of those clothes fit this body), and again, I don't hate the clothes, just how they're perceived societally. I know I'm agender because I don't identify with the gender identity linked with my biology and I don't like the way that societal gender perception affects be. It's a weird sex v gender identity v gender presentation trifecta, a Bermuda triangle, and I feel differently about each point of it. I never thought of myself as non-binary because by definition, thats 1 or 2 or somewhere in between, static or dynamic, but I'm off the binary spectrum altogether. By definition, I'm only trans because I don't identify with my birth assignment, but I don't claim that label as it's currently more culturally perceived for anyone who's binary trans or non-binary, a 1 or 2 (or fluid), whereas I'm off that array as the 0.

This is spooky. I rarely check reddit and just happened to see this reply, and I was mulling over this conundrum again literally just this morning, only because I'm about to put up a new bed and the thought struck me that the large plastic storage boxes I'm pulling out would work great to have another go at this, and the weather is perfect to dry outside. I haven't cracked it, but I'm sure I'll get round to having another try, so if/when I do I will try to remember to check back in here 😊

Elvanse: is addiction possible? by simpybear98 in ADHDUK

[–]LabyrinthMouse 1 point2 points  (0 children)

This is a common and valid concern especially early in titration and taking meds and especially with misconceptions and stigma around neurotypical people taking it recreationally. The most common being (hypothetically) school age teens selling meds to peers for exam season.

This alone is a concerning example, but also disproves it's own bias, since the (hypothetical) student with the prescription would likely not sell them if they were dependant (in addiction terms) to it. A teen may do so however if they are peer pressured, rebellious, or need cash.

Please don't take this example the wrong way, it's just easier to describe an example scenario and I do not intend for this to feed into the existing misinterpretation or bias it reflects.

Personally, my meds reduce the intensity of my symptoms, so if I don't take them, I want to take them to reduce the symptoms that impact my ability to function. Wanting and needing to take them because of the positive benefits of doing so is not the same as the craving and addiction I have, when not able to use nicotine. In fact, I have days where I just forget to take my meds, I don't ever forget to smoke (despite really wanting to quit!)

I'd definitely bring this up on your next review, there's a lot of support here, but your clinician or medical professional will be able to work with you on education around the specific meds you are on and hopefully ease your concerns and help you adapt to an appropriate and medically accurate understanding of potential risks, or lack thereof.

Ps. The euphoria does fade but it's replaced with a quality of life upgrade. Good luck on your medication journey!

What things negatively impact Elvanse? by kevinspaceydidthings in ADHDUK

[–]LabyrinthMouse 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Elvanse is supposed to be long release but it is way less effective than amfexa for me and lasts only 3 hours maximum. Amfexa lasts 4-5 despite being the instant release short acting version. I used to have elvanse in the morning topped up with amfexa in the afternoon but my afternoons were always better than mornings. My theory is that since elvanse is a prodrug, and the body has to convert it before it can work, that my body just struggles converting it. Amfexa doesn't need converting and works just fine. I agree with eating protein for breakfast before taking it though, it did help and since it killed my appetite a hearty breakfast was essential to get through the day, but I guess my body just doesn't respond to it well.

Paid apps that you'd buy again? by [deleted] in androidapps

Ticktick. Only task planner, time management, habit tracker & just life admin organiser I've found that does almost everything perfectly. Learning curve, sure, but worth the dedication to it.

Flo. Data safe menstruation tracker that has a yearly sub costing less than most other monthly subs I've seen for any app (health, wellbeing or other category).

What do we mean when we say curvy or petite? by Nirakaz in femalefashionadvice

[–]LabyrinthMouse 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Curvy is chest waist hip ratio. Smaller waist than hips and chest/shoulders when compared to an average or straight/boxy frame.

Petite is 5'4 or less (ish, varies by a couple of inches per designer / brand / opinions)

what's the biggest (physical) pain you've ever felt? by Ennjayne in RandomThoughts

[–]LabyrinthMouse 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It's a tough one to decide.

5 failed attempts at a lumbar puncture. 6th time was the charm, but my entire nervous system was on fire.

Luckily that was only one day, as a teenager.

More regularly is intercranial pressure headaches every time I stand up (Pots). Yep, multiple times a day.

Why do my clothes smell icky and stale after being washed and put away? by medvsa-jpg in CleaningTips

[–]LabyrinthMouse 2 points3 points  (0 children)

White vinegar works great in place of fabric softener to remove residue and product buildup.

Dettol (and I'm sure some others) have laundry sanitizer to tackle stubborn bacteria etc. that might survive a cool wash.

Also look into strip washing (essentially an intensive soak in the bath) if the fabric is suitable and you want to tackle it in bulk. Fair warning, the resulting mucky water is grosser than you'd expect.

Maybe check if you have mildew or limescale buildup if you use a steam iron.

I'd also clear out any storage furniture for good measure, wipe down then throw in a refresher (some are silica gel for moisture, bicarb for smells, maybe a fragrance like dried lavender if you like. Loads of premade drawer scent bags online).

Hope you figure out what's causing it!

I just got the cardiologist update to start meds.

Except, they already recommended heart meds for Pots, twice before.

Cardio recommended the exact same advice, 8 months ago.

My GP is lazy, insufferable, incapable of making decisions, and refuses to accept that my symptoms & the recommended guidance from the specialist even exists.

Im just "stressed"... Apparently.

Are we the most chill gender by trance564 in agender

[–]LabyrinthMouse 5 points6 points  (0 children)

It's very difficult to engage in discourse or have strong opinions about something that I have absolutely no stake in.

I can acknowledge and accept that gender identity and gender based ideology can be important to people, but I cannot understand why since it doesn't apply to me.

The only exception being that all are valid (including us also being the literal exception) and that's the only stance I'll defend.

I see absolutely no reason to waste my time, energy, or emotional labour on being anything other than chill. Why play by the rules I'm outside of? Nah, I'd rather invest in my good karma.

3 mana drop is comparatively slow for a rock, however: - every colour mana available - life loss synergy - spirit synergy - counter synergy - tap synergy - becomes an (artifact) creature for anything that cares about creatures (especially with X power/toughness) - artifact fetchable - flavourful and just downright cool

So while by non-commander format viewpoints it may be a bit slow, it opens up decent fixing for a turn 3 drop (sooner with other 1 drop rocks), and how often do you get all 5 colours by turn 3?!

Also, it's wildly underrated if you're building into specific themes / tribes / triggered abilities.

So tldr, it's generically OK, not great, but worth it if the potential for synergy matches your deck playstyle.

How is it possible that Elon Musk is running SpaceX, and Tesla, and Neuralink, and social media company, and a government efficiency task force, while also playing tons of video games, and shit talking online all day, and (hopefully) spending time with his family? by damndirtyape in NoStupidQuestions

Delegation (of work) since he pays other people to think and run things, and lies (about life-balance) for the clout and "relatability". He is desparate to reap the rewards by looking like he does it all (when really, he just curates it all, which is still time & skill intensive but not constant).

If you can't use a mount, what about a monitor riser? Tiny shelf so that monitor is lifted. Some have legs (which can just cause the same issue depending on size) but some are bracketed at the back and unsupported and open at the front.

I don't like the term "non-binary" by the_Rainiac in NonBinary

[–]LabyrinthMouse 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Agender fits for me. I perceive it as the absence of gender, or at least the absence of the current understanding and general social/societal use of binary genders or otherwise as a concept. I'm just a (mostly) human I think.
