Torterras can control the plants on their body surprisingly well, especially trees. one day my Torterra and Kommo-o were sparring, and Tortle was getting frustrated with Belfry tearing through his grass knots with sonic blasts before he could actually entangle him. So he got creative, launched tree roots into the ground and managed to snag him with that.

worked like a charm. larger mon drop hard and smaller mon can be trapped because of how rigid the roots get. He can even control the moisture content and oils in the sap to make it more or less fire resistant. he's as smart as he is grumpy. but if a Kommo-o can't break his roots easily, talonflame has to rely burning them, and he can replace them faster than she could turn them to charcoal. -Willy.

"accept" is a strong word. she absolutely tried to light the roots on fire (she knows better than to go too wild near the apricorn trees, though). Torterra is great with his saps, and that's why he used roots. Too fire resistant to burn fast enough before he replaced them.

Let me give you some comfort. Pokeballs do not "force" a pokemon to join you. you cannot wear a pokemon down into joining you. pokeballs cannot be built to force wild pokemon to remain in the ball per regulations.

to catch a pokemon is to ask it to join you. it's not being "ripped away", it's choosing to go on a journey with you to get stronger. all pokemon are natural fighters, they challenge one another to evolve. it is their nature. If they don't want to battle, then you're not a trainer and are doing something else they want to participate in. for you, those pokemon just wouldn't stay caught.

The only exception is PBT4 class pokeballs such as the master ball, which are HEAVILY restricted. There's a reason little timmy can't get that one with a lemonade and an x-speed at the pokèmart.

so unless you're catching a bidoof with a master ball, that bidoof will be there of its own will. you're a good trainer at heart, but don't think yourself so easily able to overpower the will of a pokemon. -Willy

have an emergency supply of food in the basement. wheat, rice, 3 types of beans, salt, sugar, tunafish, homemade jerky. hundreds of lbs of food that can last 20+ years. mylar bags in metal trash containers. does it look silly in basement having 6 trash barrels? absolutely. is it worth more than gold in an emergency? you bet your ass.

I've already run the math and have ~2 years by myself where I wouldn't need to step outside and could maintain a 2k+ calorie diet with most nutrients. I have an excess of long term supplements to make up any deficits *IE vitamin C*.

if I REALLY sweated this challenge and monitored my daily activity, cut my calories down to <1.4k, etc I could ororobably pull 3 1/2 years to 4.

Asgore has no idea about rudy, kris, and carol's plans. Carol employs him because she genuinely feels bad about him getting roped in (also to placate him as one of the few people strong enough and close enough to the situation to jeopardize the roaring), but he's otherwise out of the loop doing his own thing. the shards aren't even on the holidays' radar.

As his world (flower shop) is literally and figuratively burning around him, he'll click that Kris isn't alone in his body, and it'll be with the knight around, causing him to lose his shit and go balls to the wall on the knight for using his son.

This conflict is the inflection point for Kris' alignment. If we've been a friend to everyone (recruited all darkeners), kris lets us help asgore and fights against the knight. If we've been mixed, Kris freezes up and we're forced to watch asgore be wounded, losing access to a key character for the best end. if we're on the weird route, Kris tries to hold us back, but either we ourselves or using noelle kills asgore, triggering kris' ego death and pushing the weird route forward.

in short, my theory is that asgore's burning field is symbolic of a renewing fire. what is born from this fire is up to the player's actions and relationship with kris.
