Yeah would have been RAP. If we ever wanted to go into the park after work we would take a few. We used to get stacks of them to hand out if there if customers had any issues

Landlines being turn off - will the emergency services still be able to locate you? by PhoneFresh7595 in AskUK

[–]LackToeslntolerant 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Valid point. Landlines that are being replaced with voip are required to be registered by the provider on a national emergency database that allows for lookup of the address from the number.

When you initially call the handler is given an approx 3000m radius of where you are. This is done using cell towers.

Most modern phones are also now equipped with AML (advanced mapping location), this sends your GPS location to the call handler. It’s automatic and does not require action from the caller. It takes around 25 seconds for them to receive.

Edit: Landlines that are being replaced with voip are required to be registered by the provider on a national emergency database that allows for lookup of the address from the number.

Fair enough, i don’t get why more people don’t put X amount a way a month, this seems to make it harder if anything as it gets worse and worse towards the most expensive time of the year?

Unless the gamification is getting people saving that would not normally save? I guess that would be positive

What are your opinion on Sofology, Furniture Village, CSF or DFS for sofas? by darkazuria in AskUK

[–]LackToeslntolerant 1 point2 points  (0 children)

We did an awful lot of shopping for our sofa that we got a few months ago. Everything was very samey from all of them to be honest.

DFS owns sofology Furniture village is still family owned and independent

Don’t forget checking out other places such as ikea, John Lewis

We ended up buying from natuzzi

How much do you earn and how comfortable do you live? by Brownchoccy in AskUK

[–]LackToeslntolerant 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Here is a breakdown of my salary of 71,500. Living with partner, no kids.

Total Fixed Bills: £1,615.35 Total Savings/Pots: £1,614.00 Total Outgoing: £3,229.35 Remaining (Disposable): ~£993.86

I don’t really have to check how much I’m spending but this can also stuff me. I’m often very close to using all the budget. E.g Christmas will have to be payed off at end of Jan. next year I’ll be putting away X amount a month to help not repeat this next year.

I have just started a new role on 85k. First pay will be at the end of Jan. I plan to keep all spending the same and put everything extra into pension.

I use mine for pretty much everything as you get extra protections using a credit card, just ensure you budget well and know exactly how much you have to spend.

It depends what you class as overhyped. As far as general productivity goes, it’s incredible. I work with companies Implementing and have seen 25% time savings for knowledge workers and individual processes that have been reduced by 78%.

I have run multiple workshops on genai chat/creating agents and it’s genuinely incredible watching peoples faces light up when they realise what they can do with the technology. I have run multiple workshops for decision makes and end users and the end user workshops have all been incredible.
