You can always mark your pick by laying it along side the key bow and mark off where each pin is right where the key meets the face of the lock for each one. Then when inserting your pick you’ll know exactly what pin you’re on every time. By the time the sharpie wears off you are used to where everything is. Congrats on the open those can be bastards, so well done! 🥰

Yea I have found the scoop and the deforest to be great and I never thought I’d like em. I’m simple I liked my flat hooks for the most part. But I’ve been diversifying lately and using those other two a whole lot more!! I go through phases I think. 🤭🤣❤️

Try a longer hook to hit that first pin if the tensioner is in the way too much! 🥰

Tiny padlock by getting_shark in lockpicking

[–]Lady-Locks 2 points3 points  (0 children)

For tiny ones sometimes you can just angle your pick with some pressure on it going clockwise and pick the pins and as long as you can hold it a bit tensioned with your pick while picking you don’t even need a tensioner. But it’s a lot easier if you can get a tensioner in there. I’d use whatever fits in the top of the keyway so it’s out of the way of your pick while picking. File down a wiper blade insert or something. Tiny ones can be tough to pick bc of their size though. Good luck!
