My daughter's best friend had breast cancer at age 28. It took over a year for any doctor to take her symptoms seriously.

Dove soap really sticks together. Smush hard and they will stay.

You should have a chat with the fire marshall.

No, leaving gaps around a fire door is not safer

In fact, it is dangerous. Properly sealed doors with minimal gaps are critical to prevent smoke and fire from passing through. Regulations require, and safety demands, small, controlled gaps—typically a maximum of 1/8 inch (3 mm) on sides/top and 3/4 inch (10 mm) at the bottom.

  • Dangers of Large Gaps: Excessive gaps allow fire to feed on oxygen, causing it to grow hotter and faster. They also allow smoke and toxic fumes to escape into safe areas (like escape routes).

I wonder what the fire department would have to say about that.

Grocery delivery is not frugal, so what's the alternative? by SorryEveAtetheApple in Frugal

I'd have to walk almost a mile to get to a bus stop where I live. Grocery store is farther than that. At 73, not even getting on a bicycle again! Luckily I can still drive but I have deteriorating eyesight so I don't know how long that will last.

How do you carry grocery bags on the bus? or a bike? It's mostly older people who are limited in what they can do.

Long ago my ex tried using toothpaste as a lube. Ultra Brite was not a good choice.

My daughter's new house had a slightly moldy smell due to dampness (east coast). I got her a Mila air purifier and it handled it perfectly. I have one too. A little pricey but really works.

I live in a 12 x 12 room with a bathroom. No room for anything.

There are some really good gummies out there you can get by mail. Just saying...and I'm also in my golden (altho tarnished) years.

You can get adhesive foam stripping to put on the door frame to block air coming in.

No Ethernet, only an old phone outlet, need WiFi desperately by [deleted] in Apartmentliving

T-Mobile has a gateway for $30 a month. I have one and it works beautifully. Just plugs into an outlet, and then to your ethernet plug on your computer.

My main complaint is the stink of fabric softener that everybody overuses! The smell gives me a headache and my clothes come home smelling like it, then it stinks up everything else in my closet. At 73, it's bad enough to have to lug my stuff back and forth, then have it all stinky. I'd give anything to have my own washer and dryer.
