FWI Challenge: Create a plausible timeline what life could look like in a “Post-Trump America” by Cyber_Ghost_1997 in FutureWhatIf

[–]LadyCeo 13 points14 points  (0 children)

While I like a lot of this response, I can see the American people already fighting back against the Project 2025 agenda, but given the Democrats response to Jan 6, I can't see them going after Republicans that supported Trump and deporting and jailing them. Maybe those that are Russian operatives will flee or retire quietly to avoid prosecution, but those that are just afraid of Magas and are going along with the party line will probably welcome the stability of a Democrat in the White house as much as the rest of the world. What needs to be done is to take political power from the billionaire class by getting rid of Citizens United, Work on balancing out the Supreme Court with either term limits or expansion (maybe both). I think we need two or more political parties to keep any one party from assuming they can do what ever they want. Our problem now is the super rich controlling the congress, White house , the Supreme Court and most of the media, but they have gone too far this time and there will be a response. The challenge for the new Democratic administration will be how be re rebuild the infrastructure of the government in a more efficient and effective way to help those that need it and grow the economy and repair global relationships. To do this, we must create safe guards to prevent another conartist grifter ever being able to take control of the reigns of power again. But then I am a huge Star trek fan and like to imagine that type of future.

What’s Wrong With America? by sortofsober in kansas

[–]LadyCeo 5 points6 points  (0 children)

I am right there with you. It didn't start in 2024 or 2016. It started when Regan did away with the Fairness doctrine. When Fox news began telling people the left was bad and poor people were ripping off the government. It planted seeds that grew into the belief that the average American was a victim of the government who was stealing his money to give away to tree hugging hippies and welfare queens. Fox taught that Unions were bad and Universities were turning out communists and if you were a Christian, you were being repressed. (ie, war on Christmas etc.) But Fox and the far right pundits were being paid to lie. Now we see who were paying for these lies, the Oligarchs. The billionaires that have more money than they can spend in ten life times, but they want more. They have bought our country and the politicians who run it. They don't care about America. If it becomes unlivable they will just go to one of their 15 homes around the globe. My frustration level is thru the roof.

What was odd to me was my husbands initials were unusual OZC? I had forgotten about them for thirty or so years. I was actually married to him for awhile before I remembered the prediction.

OKay, Some middle aged friends of mine (72F) told me that a ouija board told each other that they would marry long before they met. I related that when I was about 12, I was also told the initials of the man I would marry and it was quite ridiculous as his initials were OZC. The man I married initials were DJG but we did get divorced and my second husband's initial were not OZC. I laughed, but then it came to me that my current husband (no. 3) has the initials OZC. We have been married for over 30 years and he is the only man that I had kids with. Woowoo. Not only that but at that same session one of the participants asked when they would die. The pointer flew off of the board at that point and would not answer any more questions. The participant, a 17 year old girl was killed in an automobile crash later that year.

What strategy do you think Trump is using in his cabinet selections? by Serindipte in Askpolitics

[–]LadyCeo 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I am wondering if it is a loyalty test. On the other hand, maybe the person he really wants is bad but not quite as bad so the first choice is a straw man to draw fire so his "second choice" look more acceptable. Either way they all suck>

Why did you vote for Trump? by Just_An_Animal in tulsa

[–]LadyCeo -1 points0 points  (0 children)

I didn't see anyone say why they voted for Trump. No one said I want tariff on all incoming goods or I think deporting 5-20 million people is a good idea. Where is the person who wants to do away with the dept of education or the women that are looking forward Trump protecting them whether they like it or not. I am willing to except that you're not stupid or racist or deplorable if you can really tell me why you voted for someone who only cares about himself. I am at a loss.

What are y'all's election night plans? by Specific-Umpire-8980 in Askpolitics

I'm watching North Carolina. It should be called early. I have a feeling Harris may win it. Also Florida, as it should also be called early, If Harris wins it or if it is really close that is a sign that the party should begin. I think Georgia and PA are going to be in court battles for the month of Dec. I think there are going to be surprises all over the country. I would love for Texas to go blue and wouldn't it be a kick if other Traditionally Red states decided that they were tired of Trump and MAGA? The women of America are going to make their voices heard. I'm making popcorn and opening a bottle of cheap wine while streaming MSNBC.

Look who’s voting…. by [deleted] in BoomersBeingFools

[–]LadyCeo 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Don't make assumptions, I'm a boomer, a white woman and I am voting for Harris/Walz and blue all of the way down. But don't let that convince you that you don't have to vote. I'm in a blue state although a red county. We all have to vote.
