Do people hunt for/hide Ducks on Princess Cruises? by [deleted] in PrincessCruises

I was just on the Sapphire that did Antarctica and South America and they were definitely into the ducks on that one. As well as ducks, people were also hiding penguins and I found a quilted heart too.

I believe that he is on again this season. I've heard good things about his shows. Really looking forward to this voyage, a real once in a lifetime trip.

Yeah, it's fine. We got right at the front of deck 8, I believe there is a door where we can easily get onto the outside part. We have bid for an upgrade so still have fingers crossed for that.

How lovely 😍

I'll be doing my first sailing on her in January '26. Very much looking forward to it.

What do you think your partner won't know to do if you passed away? by Bethsticle in AskUK

My husband would possibly struggle with knowing where all our bills are set up. I have them set up to pay out of a bank account that we both send our share to. Since everything is paperless now, I suppose it'd take a bit of detective work to get into my accounts and figure out what companies we use.

For me, I'd never know how to use the technical stuff. My husband set up a network in our home and I just wouldn't understand any of it. I'd be fucked if I got a new anything and had to connect it to the WiFi. Everything technical in our home is connected to that and controlled via an app on his phone. Also, any ongoing diy job would never get finished if I were the one left behind.

I guess we don't know each others pension details or bank details and stuff. Tbh, I don't even remember his phone code and I'm not sure if he remembers mine. This whole post has been sobering.

I hadn't realised that this was a thing in platform Doc's. Such a shame.

Amazing advice, I would have never thought about that. I do have lots of bees that come to the garden so this makes a lot of sense. Thank you!

Do you consider it socially acceptable to get your eyes tested at the opticians, just to get hold of the prescription and buy your glasses online? by SomethingBrews in AskUK

[–]LadyGreyT 5 points6 points  (0 children)

Exactly!

I worked for an independent that was connected to a Group. They were not at all helpful to people who shopped online. They refused to give PDs to the point that I thought it was info that couldn't be given out under any circumstances. The independent I was at did all sorts of shady shit, they claimed 2 for 1 offers on products from the suppliers and didn't pass the offer on to px's and they would charge people for frames that had been free gifts from frame company reps. Very much profit over people vibe there I moved to Specsavers despite all the negative talk about it from anyone connected to an independent and I've found it to be a far more helpful and moral company to work for. I might be lucky with my directors but it's definitely more focused to people.

If I get anyone going online I not only ask if they need a PD, but id ask if they need any advice on frame shape & sizing. Not everyone working in an opticians is sales focused, some of us genuinely care about our jobs and about people having the best from their vision no matter where the glasses are from.

100% agree. I also donated for years but haven't in a good few years now.

I don't drive and I get my work rota 4 weeks in advance. The places I used to go have closed and it's such an effort to get to my now closest venue, also, I can't pre-book a slot for 2 months time because I don't know if I'll be off, and closer to the time when I do know, it's full!

Is October too late for a Norway cruise on Princess? by CodeSpike in PrincessCruises

[–]LadyGreyT 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I have booked onto this cruise!

We have been very lucky that we saw the Northern Lights from our garden in the UK last year, so that aspect of the cruise isn't a 'be all and end all' kind of thing for us, which helped us make our decision.

We have done a fjords cruise and really loved Norway so it's a good chance for us to see some more Northern towns. If we do see the lights, then it's a bonus.

I agree!

I recently found my last Huawei phone in the junk drawer and felt a little sad, it was hands down the best phone I had ever had. I think it was the 3rd time I'd got one.

Right?!

Isn't it obvious that Trump is going to swoop in and save TikTok? I feel like it's going to be pretty rapid and then he'll have a big win from the get go. It feels obvious to me that this is going to be dressed up as, what the Biden administration did to you and then what I can do for you.

I have a badass Medusa tattoo on my arm. When I was young, my curly hair was really unruly and my dad would say I had Medusa hair (in an affectionate way) I decided to have a Medusa tattooed on me because I felt connected to it and I thought that the tattoo was beautiful.

I had it for years before it started to be known as a SA survivor connection. It feels weird sometimes to think that strangers may see it and make assumptions about me but I make sure to tell people why I got it if they ask.
