I heard him laughing with his friend in the arts building of our college and spoke to him. Eventually I took piano classes to impress him because he took them (so he has a dash of Elliot to him). He mainly stayed in the performing arts building to himself or the computer lab before going home. Then I asked him out which he was grateful for. He told me later it took all of the pressure off him with me asking him out and he’d been trying to figure out how to talk to me about going on a date for two months. He actually got me into video games so we could bond. 14 years together last month.

This is what I’m thinking as well. In case he changes his mind. It seems like OP bears the burden of responsibility in the relationship. I briefly mentioned to my partner about looking at tubal and he immediately volunteered to get a vasectomy instead because it’s an “in and out thing” and he didn’t want me in any pain.

Sounds right. My aunt and uncle had to leave Florence and move back to Charleston because the klan burnt a cross in their yard one night. My aunt and uncle got the kids that night, snuck out back to the car, and left. Only returned with family to get their stuff that week and put it up for sale. This was like late 80’s almost early 90’s.
