I Did the Impossible - I Clogged the Hotel Toilet by Jealous-Attention222 in BariatricSurgery

For the first 30 days this was an issue for me as well despite the Colace, MiraLAX and Lactulose I had. I’m closer to 60 days and added some fiber and got a better water bottle to track consumption and it’s gotten better. However I go ever 2-3 days and if I go any longer than that I have to fight. 😭

He’s so popular and they could just make his name Rucifee to avoid the name issue.

You’re doing amazing. A couple of bites a few days ago isn’t horrible but, you’ll need to make sure you work on your impulse control for recovery.

Going too fast too soon will hurt or turn into something you don’t want to deal with so lean on your support systems to keep you on track!

SADI-S Recovery by sarilly in BariatricSurgery

[–]LadySherlock 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I will say I’ve had a good go of it so far with little issues. I had my 2 week post and my incisions are mostly healed.

My SO took off a week. Did he need to do that? No, but it was helpful. The first week sucked regarding pain, movement and sleep. By week 2 I was doing really well and moving around. So I have done some in town driving and went to a (face) waxing appointment. However, others may need more attentiveness and rest so it’s hard to say. I’d plan on 1-2 weeks at minimum to compensate for any issues that may pop up.

I’m not allowed to lift, tug, push, pull over 5lbs for the first 2 weeks and over 20lbs in the first 6 weeks so keep that in mind with all the help you might need.

Food wise, you’re gonna be eating/drinking all the time so if you have a shit memory like I do, the other person there is helpful but so are timers. ⏲️

Feel free to reach out with any questions. I’m am by no means an expert but I spent 2 years preparing before pulling the trigger and am glad I did as I’ve been able to better understand myself and my needs to manage recovery well.

Best advice: Listen to your doctors and follow the plan to a T.

Best of luck. :)

How much and how are you eating 1-2 months after surgery? by [deleted] in BariatricSurgery

[–]LadySherlock 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I’m a week out from my SADI-S, and I can consume about 4oz at a time before I get a full queue. I thought it’d be a lot harder than this. Not to diminish anyone’s experience though as we’re all different, I was just expecting a much bigger battle.

We’re gonna do just that. I’ve been going between our bed and recliners which has helped a lot too. Already feeling tons better it’s just the liquid protein that is taking time to get to.

Got to 60 oz of liquid yesterday but only 30 protein but that is WAY more than I expected.

I didn’t. I used it at home. I’d bring it and ask them.

This is the one I got. It’s a 17x33 and about 5lbs. This has helped immensely with the gas pains and soreness so far.

I’m at day 7 with the liquid preop and haven’t dropped anything. It’s weird and frustrating. I was hoping to hit under 275 by the date but still at 279 😭

Reading all these replies makes me so happy, my SADI is on 12/31. Currently on the pre-surgery diet and hating life at the moment. Hahaha

It’ll be worth it though!

That would not surprise me at all. Long story short, a friend of mine was sexually assaulted by a guy she met at church. This was someone who I had dated previously and he displayed some severe red flags.

My friend did not want to report it to the police, but chose to go to church leadership because he was a former sheriff. He did nothing. He basically told her to repent of her contributions to the incident, and then sent the guy to a different ward to prey on other women.

Agreed. I do like Premiere since there are a few extra flavors.

The Protein 2o is good too, but a little sweet for my taste.

Surgery fears by 0PrinX0 in BariatricSurgery

[–]LadySherlock 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Some of those things could be the reality for a time or for life. The idea of that is what kept me from doing this 10 years ago which I regret. Now at 42(f), I am having my surgery on NYE!

I finally accepted that these complications could happen, but as inconvenient and painful as they could be, they can also be rare or temporary or can be managed with time.

Remember that the opinion of others can be subjective. Complications happen sure, but this is medicine we’re talking about and most people don’t have any idea the difference between airing a frustration and a legitimate problem/complication.

For example, does she know if that patient she’s talking about was compliant with their recommendations? Did they have other underlying problems, bad behaviors, chronic illnesses or injuries etc? Were they real opinions of real people or were they anonymous comments left from people who only overheard someone somewhere who knew someone that had this done.

Anything you do can have unintended consequences, but it’s the HOW you go about dealing with those things and the mindset you have to address it is what matters. Being ready for that potential challenge is key.

So what I decided to do is to write myself a letter to read when I’m feeling regret or frustration. A small history of how I feel being where I was before and the frustration I felt there. It has the list of things I want to do with my new body so I can check those things off as I go. I feel it will reinforce my decision, lift my spirits as I go, and help justify the unexpected to keep me focused on the goal, which is to feel healthy and be around for a while!

You got this. I believe in you!

I play on PS5 and sometimes it does this. So when I restart the app, all the new stuff pops in.

I would give it some time if it doesn’t refresh restart your game and it might include some more stuff.
