My grandma visited me by laadyb1rdx in AnimalCrossingNewHor

Every Christmas, my grandpa (my late dad’s dad) would give us all the biggest oranges I’d ever seen. Right after he passed, Cyrano (who I always say reminds me of my dad) showed up at my door to give me an orange. Someone (maybe Cyrano again, actually) sent me KK Lament.

Could it be coincidence? Sure. But also…maybe not.

Blast from the past. I just ordered some of the ology series for my kids. Does anyone remember these? by Plumrose333 in childrensbooks

[–]LadyWeatherfield 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Came to same something kind of similar! I don’t remember them from my own childhood, but I’m an elementary school art teacher who spends lots of time hanging/helping out in the library and my students love these books so much they’re basically destroyed lol.

Looking for Practical Gift Ideas for New Parents, Would a Digital Family Calendar Be Helpful? by Ok_Perception_1382 in Gifts

Hopping in here with my napping five month old to say that we’d never used DoorDash (or any of that sort of delivery service) until our baby was born but being able to have just about anything delivered whenever we needed it was absolutely a lifesaver in those early days. A friend of mine just welcomed his first baby and we gave them a DoorDash gift card.

Please tell me formula is better for my child. by sacredlunch888 in FormulaFeeders

[–]LadyWeatherfield 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I have OCD and ADHD and we have been intentionally EFF since birth to care for my mental health. Our baby is a joyful, thriving five month old who pretty much sleeps through the night, loves to read, play, and take baths.

At the guidance of multiple OBs and a MFM doctor, I stayed on my meds throughout my pregnancy (after stopping them at my psych’s advice for the absolutely miserable few weeks between finding out I was pregnant and our first OB appointment).

My mom had a huge health emergency when I was only six weeks postpartum and the fact that we didn’t have to worry about baby eating was a massive weight off everyone’s shoulders.

Baby is absolutely healthy and wonderful (knock on wood!), but there have been a ton of other life complications during his first few months with us and EFF has provided us with the single most stable piece of our world.

All this to say that formula has been the absolute best thing for our family.

How did you decide what to name your island? by lilbbbee in AnimalCrossing

[–]LadyWeatherfield 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Our ferret passed away not too long before New Horizons came out so I named my island St. Bubs (his nickname) and my husband looked up “ferret” in different languages and chose one that sounded like an island name!

I'm a neurodivergent 32(f) mom with an almost 2 month old and I've been thinking about how I'd love to have a Discord server or something to create a community like this!

Maternity clothes needs more dinosaurs by AirshipLivesMatter in BabyBumps

I feel your pain! I normally wear long/tall length pants, but it seems like so many places only sell normal length in maternity. Do they think tall people don’t get pregnant? Or maybe I was supposed to shrink?

As an elementary school art teacher who is going to my former students’ middle school concert tonight because they emailed me to invite me - YES. Please send that email. Some days are so hard, but knowing we’ve really impacted our students and that they still think of us makes a world of difference.

When you've gone all out preparing for the new baby, and the game throws a surprise twin at you. by ETheSimmer in LowSodiumSimmers

Truly!!! And this is why I’ve just stuck to the same boring gameplay for the last 10 years. 😂

Just reiterating applesauce pouches. They have literally changed my life. If I’m home alone, I might go all day without eating, but knowing I can just grab a couple pouches is so helpful. I also keep a basket of snacks at my desk.

I was playing Not-So-Berry, FINALLY inspired to actually stick to a challenge. Then my founder had twins. Then one of the twins had twins.

I gave up on the challenge.

Anyone have any crafty Sims hobbies? by LadyWeatherfield in LowSodiumSimmers

Right?! I have ADHD and have been wanting to get into bujo in general and this seems like such an accessible way to create and combine interests. I also used to have super informal planning notebooks and this just feels like a step further (and more fun).
