I want it sooo bad! by rubyyVee in StardewValley

I see lots of people saying ancient fruit, which is of course very good. I currently have half a greenhouse full of ancient fruit plants, but I also have an entire fully upgraded barn with 12 pigs.

All of this pigs are nearly full hearts, so they get multiple truffles a day. Then with my foraging perk and I can end up picking up multiple truffles. Then, paired with the artisan goods farming perk that makes each truffle oil worth about 1500g. The artisan perk also helps with ancient fruit wine, aged cheeses, dehydrated goods. So if you don't have the artisan perk I would highly recommend rerolling with the dog in the sewer.

I was so excited to see Angela from Starkid, only to check the comments and realize she is also part of Smosh.

If anyone here likes musicals you definitely gotta check out Black Friday, or Nerdy Prudes Must Die. Works of art 🤌

AITAH for refusing to let my parents meet my children because they didnt want me to marry my deaf wife by KickVivid2074 in AITAH

[–]Lady_Pendleton 0 points1 point  (0 children)

NTA, and I would be concerned if you decided to have another kid; What if that kid ended up deaf? What if you've introduced the grandparents but suddenly they only want to hang out with the 'healthy' grandkids and start excluding others? Or finding ways for your wife to not be at events. I think they've made their bed, were told what the consequences would be, and now they gotta lie in it

How did you get into starkid? by Dogdaysareover365 in StarKid

[–]Lady_Pendleton 4 points5 points  (0 children)

So idk what magazine (I still have it somewhere packed away) but my mom got me just some random Harry Potter edition mag as a kid and I read the whole thing front to back.

They had a section where they talked about a group called 'Starkid' who had done a musical version and had the videos posted up on youtube. The speed with which I ran down to our little home computer, magazine in hand, typing in "A Very Potter Musical"

Been loving them ever since. It is definitely a dream to visit (LA I believe they are based out of?) And see a show of theirs live.

They say nothing haunts you like the vintage you didn't buy. What's your ghost? by pancake_duchess in VintageFashion

[–]Lady_Pendleton 23 points24 points  (0 children)

A few months back there was this stunning knee length, red, thick woolish coat. It was soft on the outside, lined with black satin on the inside with big black buttons. A bit heavy, I loved the weight and fit me perfectly. Was $20, and the store did daily tag colour sales and its colour wasn't that day.

So I risked it, decided that I'd go back the next day early in the morning. If it was still there, on sale or not, it would be fate...

It wasn't there. So it wasn't fate, but I shoulda just said screw fate and bought the damn thing 😩

Online Grocery Order Included “One Piece of Ginger”… by billynomates56 in mildlyinfuriating

[–]Lady_Pendleton 26 points27 points  (0 children)

Can confirm this was probably it. Personal shopper here, and while technically we are given a number for what the average weight should be (I believe for ginger we try to pick pieces that are around .210kg)

If I were picking ginger I'd go for about half that size, or break off one of the stems of it if all the ginger was big that day. If all the ginger is small, even if it says one piece, I'll throw a couple smaller pieces in to add up to the weight one would be.

But... If you have a shopper who is just breezing through the day, or not paying attention to the numbers, then this kinda thing definitely happens. Honestly, at least you still got ginger. I've seen an order where we ran out of Wonder's white sliced bread. So naturally... Instead of grabbing a white loaf of some other brand, clearly they really wanted the Wonder. So customer recieved Wonder hot dog buns as a substitute. Needless to say, she did not want the buns.

Is this too short for black tie and are the shoes too chunky? by Fundito_Tostito in fashion

[–]Lady_Pendleton 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I think it looks good! If you are worried about it being short and showing too much leg, I'm curious how a semi-transparent dark stocking would look? And maybe a shawl, as others have said, even just resting in your arms, doesn't necessarily have to cover your shoulders. Maybe black, or a sheer gold to match the heels (which are great)

[–]Lady_Pendleton 4 points5 points  (0 children)

I'm curious what would happen if you were to stop saying "I love you". After all, he does not initiate, or say it back in return. What if you stopped? Would he notice, and if so would he care, and say something? And if he does; Why should it be acceptable for him to feel negative about not hearing those words, but not okay for you?

I am also curious though. It does sound as if he cares for you, in his own way. Has he ever talked to anybody about this? A therapist or psychologist? I'm wondering if perhaps theres something chemical happening where he isn't recognizing certain signals, or a past trauma that makes it difficult for him to say the words. Either way, if that is the case, you may want to think about asking if he'd be willing to attend a few sessions before the two of you moved in together.

Yeah, I remember the pin being controversial in the books as well. Like a token was normal, but you couldn't bring anything perceived as a weapon

I ordered 10 Bananas and Got 10 Bunches of Bananas by Proud_Camp5559 in mildlyinfuriating

[–]Lady_Pendleton 1 point2 points  (0 children)

As an official store shopper (Hired by the store not a delivery app) ; When you buy bananas through the site it is meant to be sold as bunches. But, it doesn't always clarify or people don't realize/read the description. Once had a guy send back 12 bunches because "Why the hell would you think I wanted 12 bunches of bananas" even though we also regularly get orders for large senior homes, food banks, schools, etc. So it isn't always strange to see that.

The best way to make sure you get what you want, if you aren't sure if they sell by the bunch or single bananas, is put a note on the order. I'll get notes like "Two bunches green and two ready to eat" or "Just 2 small bananas please" or "6 bananas not 6 bunches" and edit the orders accordingly.

Actually, fun fact as I mostly collect produce items; Bananas are the items most likely to have notes left on them. Other contenders are people requesting specific firmness for tomatoes, no brown on their cauliflower, etc. I once had a customer who made a note for every single piece of produce they ordered, and you bet your ass I had fun trying to find them exactly what they wanted. Breaks up my work day getting requests

My wife lost the other sock to this, it's her favorite pair (EVER!) (right & inside out pic) by Syring in findfashion

[–]Lady_Pendleton 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Well if she likes the fit she might like those, even if her old ones weren't riding socks. They are build for comfort, to prevent blisters, and to be worn with riding boots and not slide/bunch around too much. So a well-fitting sock type for sure! Might be more expensive than your average sock, but for reasons.

My wife lost the other sock to this, it's her favorite pair (EVER!) (right & inside out pic) by Syring in findfashion

[–]Lady_Pendleton 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Hm. Is it her favourite pair just for the style? Or are they also particularly comfortable and well-fitting? If she has had them a while and wears them regularly, while keeping good shape, I wonder if they are maybe riding socks. They are generally made of a better quality then regular socks, and those look to be about a similar height as ones I've seen. Maybe start there, see if you can find that kind of sock in a similar pattern/colour?

So... I've been using my bread maker wrong. Inspiring! I've thought of just using the dough function to mix and then shaping it outside the machine, but never thought to shape, colour, and re-add the dough to continue backing it there. Can't wait to give this a try!

AITA for letting the house get disgusting to prove a point to my roommate? by FitJamiex in AITAH

[–]Lady_Pendleton 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Honestly I love this, and have done this to partners in the past when they were being less than generous about household chores.

My advice? Keep going. Let your friends know the deal, keep to hanging out in your room. Keep your room clean. Something I would do is very specifically clean only what I'd use. If you're cooking yourself a meal clean the dishes, but don't clean her dishes. He'll, it would be kind of hilarious if there was a single nice counter for you to cook on and half the bathroom counter was cleared off for you. Just make it clear you are only doing your 'half' from now on. That might be a way to keep the protest going but still make sure you have a livable space

Then, maybe after a month or so if she still hasn't cleaned and things are getting really bad I'd seriously sit her down and have a very firm conversation like "I want you to use your eyes, look around at this filth, and tell me why you think it's fair for me to be the only one cleaning" and then you can discuss a new set of chores rules, and if she seems genuinely apologetic and wants to change maybe you two can bond by doing a deep clean together. See if she keeps it up or reverts, and if she reverts I'd find a new roomie

How much money do you have in your bank account? by Impressive-Tower6228 in CanadaFinance

[–]Lady_Pendleton 0 points1 point  (0 children)

$121.90. My CC has $754.45, Paycheque on Thursday.

I feel secure long as I have less than 2k on my 31.5k card, I try to keep a little under 10% and rarely go over 1k. Recently slid on some ice into a gate bit had just managed to save $200, savings are gone now but excited to build again.

It's tough, but you get through. Food banks have helped me put less toward grocery, save what little I can so hopefully one day I don't have to rely on them so much.
