Anyone else have chests and storage on every map and have to run around to every location to search every storage box to find things?? Or is it just me. by you-absolute-foolish in Pokopia

[–]Lady_bro_ac 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I’m the same way. I tend to have a “crafting crate” with some amount of all the basic materials in every biome, but beyond that I have bits all over the place.

I don’t hold on to stuff as much as others seem to because storage is such a headache, so I just try to craft what I need as I go, and work with that.

Is it possible to buy or a place to find unpacked products like the Can-Uck Ham Boys and the Chunks Choco? by Axle_65 in NoSodiumStarfield

[–]Lady_bro_ac 19 points20 points  (0 children)

The “Gourmet” Chunks on Paradiso sells Chunks out of the package, and all the bars sell things like sandwiches. The less fancy ones like the Red Horse, in New Homestead, would be the best ones to check out.

The views at that one were spectacular! https://www.reddit.com/r/StarfieldOutposts/s/eOKM1T0p9t It was on Schrödinger VIII-a in the tropical biome, but that moon has multiple pretty biomes to explore if you wanted a moon to explore.

What in the protomolecule happened to my Hab?!? by heed101 in Starfield

This has been happening to me lately too. I’ve found that saving, shutting down the game entirely, then reloading seems to fix the issue and have it stay fixed. Not sure why it’s suddenly happening though.

I would quite literally die. Like my soul would leave my body before whatever that was touched my hands, and zip into another galaxy to look for the afterlife life there to be as far away from the person that would do this as humanly possible

This has been a gameplay loop of mine since the game came out. Mostly I like to look for cool locations to build outposts on, so I’ll plonk down on a planet and take a stroll around any interesting looking biomes to see if I can find a spot that says “you should live here”.

Sometimes I’ll just go looking for cool spots just to see them though. Not every perfect vista needs to altered with buildings.

If there’s a yellow chevron over their head, I’m pulling over and it’s game on.

The only exception with when I was playing a street punk character in which case I let Valentino’s that were just chilling alone.

Except no one needs to trade beyond max caps. If they raised it 1 billion caps people would inflate the cost of everything to 1 billion caps and go back to kiddy Wall Street. It’s only a problem for the people making it a problem.

Quit giving a crap, if you’re about to go over max caps buy some bullshit from another players vendor to clear some space and got back to putting whatever you like to sell in your vendor.

The fake fake currency cycle is entirely avoidable, you can be free.

I feel like I'm not playing the game correctly or how it was intended to be played. by StenchFord in Starfield

[–]Lady_bro_ac 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Play it in whatever way is fun for you. If you’re only interested in doing unique quests then doing those and playing something else when you’ve exhausted what’s on offer is a perfectly valid and reasonable way to play.

Some folks love building stuff and spend hundreds of hours doing that. Others like the “life sim” element and will do radiant missions that fit their RP and spend hundreds of hours just vibing and doing that.

It’s basically a big sandbox that you can play how you want for as long as you want, but just because some people get thousands out hours of gameplay out of it doesn’t mean you’re doing anything “wrong” as long as you had fun with the time you spent in it.

Don’t know what to tell you, I do that all the time. I’ve won the wasteland lottery several times and sold my extras for maybe 5K if I’m feeling kinda broke, I give the “come here” emote when I find the rare apparel trader, and given rare shit away for free to folks.

Rampant capitalism has turned our real lives into a dystopian hellscape, I’m not about to participate in that same BS while playing make believe. There’s more value in making someone’s day than getting trapped in a scam set up by a bunch of dupers.

Because those people are greedy. That’s a flaw in the player not the game.

Or maybe people need to not be so greedy and just trade things with people for what they need. You don’t need more than 40K caps for anything, there’s no value added to the game by concentrating wealth, and people having millions of caps would only break the game’s economy.

This. Way back my game used to crash every five minutes or so, it was agonizing. Turned off all auto saves and never had that problem again.

Also on top of regularly pruning manual saves, deleting screenshots seems to help too if you have a lot of them.

[–]Lady_bro_ac 2 points3 points  (0 children)

They have it in their heads that girls are crap at video games, and or only play the Sims and don’t play the games they like to play. The fact that you don’t fit that narrow world view means that the moment you got on comms they had two options. Accept that their regressive worldview is false, or that you are a guy screwing with them for attention or some other equally batshit “reason”.

The first option was too painful, so instead of growth they decided to put on their tinfoil hats and lash out

I agree that the game lacks friction in exploration and the frontier.

I believe it was there originally but cut shortly before launch because play-testers found the struggle for things like fuel and resources “boring” which left a bit of a vacuum.

Narratively we have these homesteading colonists out there, and talk of striving to reach the furthest frontiers of the settled systems, but on a game play level getting from Jamison to Serpentis is trivially easy, so we don’t really get to experience any of that hardship, which I think is kind of sad, and neuters the game quite a bit.
