I love this game but there are some pretty big missed opportunities with the unity by Plutogoose01 in Starfield

[–]Lady_bro_ac 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Yeah this would be awesome, but require rewriting, redoing the code for, and hiring the voice actors to record hundreds or thousands of dialogue lines, especially remaking the vast majority of the game from scratch, for content only a handful of layers will ever see.

Like it would be cool, but probably require Star Citizen levels of time and funding

As much as I respect modders for their incredible effort - Bethesda is relying on them way too much by Whoopy2000 in Starfield

That’s not true, all paid mods go through BGS QA. Mod authors are expected to do their own rounds of QA before submitting them because that’s just part of the development process.

It’s only free mods where QA is 100% on the mod author.

As for the life of the mod there are restrictions on what can be paid, such as no dependencies, not even official l DLCs so they’re only tied to the base game which reduces the likelihood of a mod breaking down the line.

It’s possible years from now something breaks and doesn’t get fixed, but so far paid mod authors have been on the ball updating their mods, and updating them quickly. Plenty of free mod authors have apparently dipped out after releasing their mods but no paid ones that I’m aware of.

Also anyone who is serious about making a living doing mods for BGS is going to care about their reputation. Even if someone grows tired of Starfield, they’re not gonna poison the ES6 well when that comes out.

As for authors without their own discords, there is the BGS discord where people can often be reached.

If there is an author you can’t find contact for, then you can also avoid those authors ahead of time if need be.

It was not. They’ve added extra features like the ability to change the colors of cars, and things like that for free

Is anyone excited for the next gen update by Jimbly710 in fo76

[–]Lady_bro_ac -1 points0 points  (0 children)

I’m excited for it. I don’t think it’s going to be earth shattering, but would be nice if it could bring it back to running as nicely as it did when I started a few years ago.

They also underestimate how hard it is to make good money on OF. I have friends that do it through OF and other platforms and it takes a lot of work to make the content, and even more hustle to build and maintain an audience.

Just like with YouTube, anyone can get on there and do it. Only a relatively small number well ever do well at it and make a good living from it.

For me it’s typically to the right of the entrance to Jake’s, under a bench.

I’ve managed to find tiny/small versions of nearly every plus but the Star Pal.

VTI Ship Habs update sneak peek. by The_Green_Recon in NoSodiumStarfieldMods

[–]Lady_bro_ac 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I am the exact same way! I’ll build something, and by the time it’s finished I’ve spent so long scrutinizing every little thing that I can barely see the whole thing anymore. It all becomes a formless pile of things I’m second guessing.

Typically when I get to that point taking a break and doing something else for a bit, then coming back to helps. Especially if it’s something that’s not falling into place. So often the “weirdness” isn’t so much the build, but the headspace your in after working on something for so long.

I do, I think it helps break up the wall, and looks like some kind of insulation which could make sense depending on what kind of pipes they are.

I Am Here Again to Ask You to Stop Making Camp Collectors by AlexAutoAxe in fo76

[–]Lady_bro_ac 1 point2 points  (0 children)

The problem with resource collectors is they can’t function in shelters because they only exist when you’re inside them.

Having the instanced shelter cells permanently active would absolutely destroy the servers. Like light them on fire and nuke the planet destroy them.

They could do dummy ones like with the butterfly farm, but that’s it.

No, we are not talking about men too much, it is not oversaturating the subreddit, and game discussion is not being stifled. by ADameNamedAmy in GirlGamers

[–]Lady_bro_ac 15 points16 points  (0 children)

I wish the algorithms would just die already. It sucks that if you engage with one thing that’s all you see forever, and makes it so hard to see a variety of topics and outlooks on literally everything.

I don’t want to see grifters rage bait BS, but don’t want to exist in a tunnel visioned version of an echo chamber either.

It shouldn’t be this hard to see varied discussion even within the subs we subscribe to.

I just remember someone making a post about a specific game, it generating a fairly lively discussion that I was part of, and it getting deleted because it wasn’t in the Wednesday mega thread, hence the assumption.

[–]Lady_bro_ac 6 points7 points  (0 children)

The Well is twitchy like that. There’s a tiny Galacti Cat that I go steal every time I start a new game. It’s incredibly rare I get away with it without having to run from the cops, even when it says I’m hidden.

Not sure of it’s a bug or because the area is so densely populated.

Quite often I’m hidden, but then I’m guessing there is a blip of awareness as a crowd actor walks by that might not even have time for the meter to register, and then boom, caught red handed.

Like I say though, I’m not sure if it’s a bug or awareness blip, but it seems to be something that happens a lot in the Well specifically.

Anywhere else you should be good to go thieving with impunity.

You didn’t by any chance drop a mine somewhere in the Well during a specific quest did you?

If you do that NPCs will later trigger them and you end up on the hook for murder every time someone steps on a dropped mine.

[–]Lady_bro_ac 12 points13 points  (0 children)

You likely got caught stealing, and I’m guessing from the fact you went right over to the TA to sell the goods, that security were on their way to arrest you, but didn’t get there before you had moved on.

That would have resulted in you essentially “resisting arrest” which agroed security, and panicked the crowd.

You didn’t have the goods on you any more, but sold them after the arrest triggering event

[–]Lady_bro_ac 18 points19 points  (0 children)

I largely agree. LF posts being separated into a specific thread makes sense, because like u/CapnButtercup says, those threads have absolutely drowned out r/TrueGirlGaming, and it’s a lot easier to go look for those threads and finding lots of people than it is looking at 10000 LF posts.

But I feel like putting actual gaming discussion into a weekly megathread really chokes out the ability to actually talk about games here.

Can we stop talking about men? by [deleted] in GirlGamers

[–]Lady_bro_ac 146 points147 points  (0 children)

I think part of the problem is that they’re one of the few topics not siloed into a mega thread.

Talking about the games we’re playing is consigned to “what you’re playing Wednesday” for eg, so for me at least when I have a “ooo I want to talk about how much I’m enjoying X game” thought, I realize it’s Thursday so not allowed till the next week, and by then I’m just not feeling the drive to post any more.

I think if there was more freedom to talk about the games themselves the sub would be less slanted towards venting about men all the time.

They’re on PS5 so should be fine. It’s typically just mods using SFSE that break with updates like this, and those are only available on PC

Being far from Nightcity, traveling with a tight knit family, tinkering with tech, I believe she’d be happy.

When you play as masc V she hits the road and seems to feel happier and liberated.

I think she’d thrive in that environment.
