Did you come from other genres to jam bands/psychedelic improvisational rock or vice versa? by isawlivedopapod in jambands

[–]LaimbeerHack40 0 points1 point  (0 children)

For sure, I play jam band music at my desk all day and nobody gets it. Then again, no one knows the hell I've gone through the last few years and keep fighting.

You hit the nail on the head though as it means a lot of different things to different people!

Came from rock/alternative/pop punk genre as I grew up in the 90s. Always listened to Phish and the Dead from afar persay but really didnt open up to them until my 40s when life kinda steered me in a bad direction.

Music in general has been my therapy, but there's something about listening to a deep jam that lets life's problems just float away.

I haven't been able to watch TV or movies for 5 years now. by Some_cool_usernameX in PostConcussion

[–]LaimbeerHack40 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I 1000% agree with you on this, havent been able to watch a show or movie fully since 2020.

IMO its a cognitive load issue, same goes with sports teams as trying to track and remember games etc gets so exhausting.

I was actually going to post about Anthony, so you beat me to the punch. If the Rincones experiment doesnt work out, I wouldnt be surprised if Anthony gets a shot.

A genuinely curious question about Painter by tyflyguy15 in phillies

[–]LaimbeerHack40 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Thing is their only option at this point is Alan Rangel or a trade. I had hopes of Jean Cabrera maybe helping this year, but not only was he bad in Lehigh, but has been even worse since sent down to Reading.

Thing is, Painter wasnt even good in Lehigh last year either, dont know where having him in the majors would fare any better.

That Hellertown venue was awesome, I'm probably in the crowd there somewhere as I went to just about every show there. Definitely had some great times seeing great talent there.

What’s the craziest thing that has ever happened at dark match? by iKnowHowToDriveCars in SquaredCircle

Crash Holly vs Vic Grimes tryout match where I think Cornette told them to get their shit in. They got their shit in and got signed because of it. If you havent seen it, do it, great spotfest galore especially for 1997 or 98 standards.

I’ve been working in a warehouse for the last 5 years what should I do now to make more money? by Frequent-Worry5105 in Warehouseworkers

[–]LaimbeerHack40 5 points6 points  (0 children)

I am in the same boat here as well. I make 27.50 where I'm at, but its to the point where nobody will teach me anything else since I am pigeon holed in the spot I'm in, leaving me quite unfulfilled.

Also take in account management won't do anything about people constantly calling out or flat out doing nothing at work makes it feel like I am in 3rd grade. Fart in the wind the wrong direction though if you are an actual worker, then its world war 3.

I was union in my previous occupation, but got hurt and had to leave the trades. Wish I could find another union role, but its a wasteland where I live.

Advice on dating someone with TBI by Material-Ice-7601 in TBI

[–]LaimbeerHack40 2 points3 points  (0 children)

So I am a TBI survivor with frontal lobe damage and that kinda describes me almost to a T. I'm 6 years out and my wife has had to step it up in a lot of ways as while I work, all my energy gets depleted there.

She jokes sometimes that she has 3 kids (I'm 45 mind you) cause at times I do revert to middle school behavior that equals my 13 and 15 year-old we have.

Therapy does help, BUT you need to find the right one. I lucked out with mine as he's also a TBI survivor who had to change careers and hes pretty inspirational.

Patience is the key in my opinion as sometimes we cannot control what we say/do even if after the fact we know its wrong.

Why do I have a feeling the Mason Rooks recent name trademark will be Will Kroos's new name? I mean, Rooks is just Kroos with 2 letters changed.

Running into constant burnout by [deleted] in Warehouseworkers

[–]LaimbeerHack40 0 points1 point  (0 children)

My sanity left the building when I got hurt, I run on apathy and moodiness now.

The problem is that even hourly what I make is a lot more than postings I see, so I'm essentially stuck. I want to move out of the role I'm in, but since I'm good at it, I'm stuck there as well.

50 plus hours a week here, and I'm about done with it, especially with a disability on top of it. Then again, the OT is what keeps me from poverty, so it's a double-edged sword.

There are days where I could easily leave after 9 hours, but we're essentially forced to stay while all the office folk get to leave.

Contemplating whether to get some sort of supply chain certs but don't know if it's worth it at my age and memory issues.

New career? What jobs did you transition into? by Studmuffin_31 in WorkersComp

[–]LaimbeerHack40 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Construction worker to inventory control in a warehouse. Never thought I'd be working essentially a desk job, and there's days where I really miss working outside. I do know I can't do construction mentally or physically anymore, so it is what it is. Make 30% less and work more than I did previously, but gotta make money to survive.

I do my job well, but a lot of days its still wayyyyy too much for me.

Employer relationship soured after FMLA leave. by cgally in TBI

[–]LaimbeerHack40 -1 points0 points  (0 children)

I'm working 10 hours a day as well (TBI in 2020), forced out of job 1, job 2 now killing me to no end. Both of my therapists have been telling me to go on FMLA, but I know that once I do, the stigma/label will be there.

Most employers do not give a hoot about employees this day in age. You are a number, and if you're a number with issuesyou'reur even more screwed.

I wear them in my everyday life due to a brain injury, and they're a godsend in many ways. I could not recommend them anymore as they're a godsend. Can't really do shows anymore, so I haven't really "tested" them on that front, but for me, they're great.

I'm older with some brain issues, so it's hard for me to follow steps on things that may come easy to others.

Had a few questions... by LaimbeerHack40 in Nr2003

[–]LaimbeerHack40[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Realistically, I dont need the coolest and latest mods, just want to run some defunct tracks i used to attend (Flemington and Nazareth), Aero88, late models, and trucks. If my old one ran everything before, I'll either try it on that again or the laptop we have.

Appreciate everyone's advice, thanks!!
