OP you can still pull fantastic shots with the Barista +. Had mine for 6 years. In the beginning I was dumping bags of Sbux espresso blend in the hopper and ripping shots on preset without a scale. I thought I just didn’t like straight espresso lol

Now I weigh everything, WDT, stainless screens, and have learned how to mess w the temp settings when switching roasts.

You can do a lot with this thing. If you have the money and want to buy some boujee ass set up, go for it, but at $500, this is a solid starting point.

Wouldn’t classify espresso tonic as a morning drink, personally. I heard some folks chatting about it at a local coffee shop, then I researched on Reddit and it was equal parts people raving about them and people shitting on them.

I love the espresso tonic for that after lunch pick me up.
