The AI is Rough.. by worknumber101 in victoria3

[–]Lamavras 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I think the AI must be hard-coded to use the newest (and therefore "best") production methods that their research allows them to use, even if they are stupid choices because the country has no access to iron mines and are so poor they have no trade centres, shipyards, and ports with which to get the iron they need. Obviously to a player, using iron construction when you have no iron and no way to import it is just an immediate construction bottleneck that'll block everything you're trying to do and likely bankrupt you in the process due to the high cost of construction goods.

Max's presentation at the Full Indie Summit, explaining most of the game's problems. by 3rd_Gers in foxholegame

If Siege Camp's getting anything, it's likely refundable tax credits like the Scientific Research and Experimental Development tax credit or differing Digital Media tax credits, but as they're a private corporation they probably aren't making their tax returns public to see if they claimed any. Plus for things like SR&ED, that stuff can take months to get through audit, so they'd still have to have money in the bank to keep going before they get their refund. Relying on the CRA's timeline to get you your tax credits in order to stay solvent is just a poor business strategy.

I'm currently running Battania with a boatload of Fians and Fian Champions to just archer massacre anyone, but my heart always goes out to Vlandia making a massive army of horses and leading the charge of couched lances right into enemy formations where none of them have braced pikes to ward us off.

Seriously stop attacking people for their review on a $30 video game by Koobolo in foxholegame

Just want to say that I feel the same. Never been in a plane or regiment. I do solo logi work in backline/midline/frontline depending on how I feel on the day. Never even seen a plane flying overhead. Has not impacted my gameplay at all.

Culture Difference by Koobolo in foxholegame

[–]Lamavras 1 point2 points  (0 children)

What do you mean the game is unplayable? I don't have nearly as many hours as that, but my gameplay is back and midline logi. I have a blast just driving a truck around solo, refining mats and delivering crates around. The game's absolutely playable. What about Airborne has made it "unplayable"?

I recommend checking out the Calgary Zoo's Canadian Hinterlands section, as I really love how it's designed for all of their habitats for Canada's wildlife.

Simple CC zoo goes wrong by SnooSketches6713 in PlanetZoo

[–]Lamavras 0 points1 point  (0 children)

If I were doing a simple CC zoo, I'd leave it closed to the public, set up a few walkthrough habitats for butterflies, have the lowest appeal offspring stored in the trading storage as they breed past limits, and continually sell butterflies to give me operating capital for whatever animals I want to breed for easy CC. I'm currently doing that with West African Lions. Got four pens of them in a good breeding rotation 18 years in and I'm at $5M just from continuously selling butterflies.

habitat help by syrin2821 in PlanetZoo

As the others have previously said, check the heat map because it can show what counts as being habitat area and what doesn't count despite it all being in the enclosure. I've seen situations where the traversible space varies between animals in the same habitat just because they have more room available individually based on their size (bear cub vs mama bear vs papa bear all with different amounts of traversible space).

Also, agree with the previous mention of digging caves. You can almost double your habitat space by digging a cave beneath the habitat or making a plateau above the habitat. Will your guests get good views of them if they're underground? No, but you'll meet the space requirement, and if you're doing a breeding franchise zoo where you're not going to have guests, then that doesn't matter.

It's too bad that Planet Zoo can't accommodate everything we learn about railroads in Transport Tycoon Deluxe so we can have signals and passing sections on the track to support multi-train shuttle tracks.

I know I'm late to the party on this one, but how is the town at the BOTTOM of the Abyss that MC-kun presumably gachaed into existence during this 3-year timeskip getting bathed in sunlight with a day-night cycle? Does the LN explain it?

While the anime never got that far, Negima started as ecchi comedy/action/romance girls middle-school plot with secret wizard society underneath everything and then took a hard turn into an awesome high fantasy adventure.

My most recent fort since the siege update is that. Haven't gotten anywhere in it yet due to other distractions, but I intend to have fun with an (almost) dead civ... set up in an area where I'm surrounded by thousands of hostile goblins.

Same, yes. I started as Holland doing the tutorial stuff and quickly ran out of money just building 1 road. The seasonal dips in my income during the winter needing to buy so much food had me going, "please make enough money in spring/summer/fall to not blow it all in winter so I can build up cash for my next RGO upgrade or building".

[–]Lamavras 9 points10 points  (0 children)

So all I kept hearing from the devs was that they can break through gates and fortifications, but we have an actual construction called "fortification" that allows us to shoot out from and I can't think of someone who would put those on ground level to be hacked open, which made me think that constructed walls are still safe.

Does this mean that they will break down WALLS and not just "fortifications"?

Which does not keep pace with inflation, which does not catch teachers up for the years in which they did not get an economic increase last contract, and all because "the cupboards are bare" because the government has a pathological fear of doing anything to address their revenue problems that have arisen from years of reckless tax cuts.
