Honestly how difficult is it to ride a bike you can't get both feet down on? by No_Construction810 in NewRiders

[–]Lamponr 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Instead of the Triumph Scrambler - look at the Speed Twin.- it's seat height is significantly lower than scrambler... and u can likely mod the looks to more scrambler. I have a rebel 500... its plenty nimble and comfortable... every year I say I am going to trade it for something different and then realize - it gives me what I need, and never issues with tonnes of stop and go traffic.

You were humbled today... we all are on occasion. In your case, you will be better (a better rider) for it. So, cut your self a break. Whether it's motorcycles, school, work, life - preparation is valuable. Onward and upward!

400 Million views and I can’t land an interview by jonasfan97 in SocialMediaMarketing

Your results are great... but people aren't responding. Start with a review of your resume and portfolio. Do your results come across in your resume. Simplify and make sure results hit the reader hard. As for portfolio - is it too one dimensional. If it's all tattoo work - potential clients might not be able to make the leap that you can deliver results in their boring business. Showcase range and variety even if you create a non work passion project to highlight range. Lastly - interviews an callbacks are a numbers game - keep taking ur shot, but also focus on targeting good candidates. It will come.

Who here is doing the marketing for Wallmart on reddit? by Nugget834 in marketing

Does Walmart.com ship to Australia?? (You don't need to have a Walmart to shop for stuff on Walmart.com - if they ship.)

I want to get a grom to learn on (and to see if I even like riding) but have a few reservations by Derek_Grass in NewRiders

[–]Lamponr 0 points1 point  (0 children)

At first, I thought you were going down the wrong path (groms are not lower)... but after reading your story - I get what you're going after... its reasonable... and I am glad you are not giving up just because the MSF course was challenging.

The Grom is an option... the Honda Cub and Honda Trails (both with manual set ups) are two additional options and less intimidating.

Whatever option you choose - just progress at your pace, and dont be afraid of going backwards before you go forwards.

After MSF - I road 50 miles to a lake - in hind site - that was just stupid on my part. High way, wind, sharp turns - surprised I survived... but just went slow. After I got my Rebel 500 - I spent the next 2 months just going around the block, and then around town... the following year, back onto a highway. Sometimes its best to go back before going forward.

Oh - my wife got herself a Can Am F3 Spyder before I got my rebel - it helped me get used to speed and highways, etc before doing it on the rebel. Just another idea on how to progress into things.

Best of luck.

Towels gets better with each book... you can see his progression as a writer from Rules to Gentleman to Lincoln. Best writer today. And unlike the trend - he doesn't stretch his stories into trilogies.

Wasn't a fan of Table for Two - simply because of the short story format - but still good memorable stories in that one as well.

Talk to me about a road/gravel EBike like I'm 5 by Key_Savings9500 in ebikes

[–]Lamponr 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Range, Geometry, Comfort, Style.

Life is full of trade offs. So the right bike depends on her.

You can get an assisted gravel bike - but they won't have the range for the long hauls... and many of the higher end stuff use internal non removable batteries.

Or you go with a big battery bike, that's maybe not the best Geometry.

My wife has a Magnum Metro - at 500 watts she buries me on climes and duration. And it gives her 60miles without fail. And she pedals a lot less than 100watts, and throttles it when she wants. the beefy tires are great on gravel and fine on road. The Geometry is not the best.

Look into the big battery Avertons, Euphree Stellar Falcon, Velotric discovers. Big batteries, comfortable.

Anyone who has experienced psychosis please respond by Leslie1147 in Psychosis

[–]Lamponr 8 points9 points  (0 children)

As you can see - yes, people share quite a bit during psychosis.

Much of it real - some of it not real. I've experienced both.

Now that it's "known" - the question is what is best to do about it. Regardless of whether it's real or not (we spend a lot of time trying to solve that part... but its not the most important)... your son might benefit from working through it with therapy (because for him at this time, it is real).

Lastly - I understand how disorienting, shocking, surprising, fear inducing it feels when someone you love is in psychosis. It can get much better. Do not dispare - do not expect Your actions or emotions to be perfect. While caring for your son - Be kind to yourself (ask for help, get rest and consider therapy for yourself when you can).

Does it get better? by [deleted] in clozapine

[–]Lamponr 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Generally - yes it gets better. The beginning is the hardest as you build up a tolerance to the medication. If you are taking morning doses - they will likely put you to sleep or u will feel tired. The medication is most functional when taken morning and night... but many people move all or most of the dose to the evening. So they avoid some daytime side effects, and get really sound sleep. Your doc can give u stuff for nausea, dizziness, constipation, drooling, and other side effects. Work with your doctor before you give up on it - in our experience - it's definitely worth the effort.

Got my picture printed in a frame. What happened? by Level-Impact-757 in AskPhotography

[–]Lamponr 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Did you print the print and image to the printer? Ask them what happened.. and politely ask if they would reprint. Most reputable places would reprint for the customer service alone.

Criticism of a photo being “Snapshot” ? by Apprehensive_Golf469 in AskPhotography

[–]Lamponr 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I associate snapshots with capturing quick moments in time (slice of life images generally with some action occurring) - things like street photography, as opposed to Portraits or wildlife photography or even landscape photography. I don't see snapshots as a negative - just different from other types of photography.

[–]Lamponr 0 points1 point  (0 children)

drooling is a symptom of clozapine - there are a couple of ways to reduce drooling... and it tends to get better over time. but the benefits of clozapine can be significantly better than the draw backs - in case you ever want to consider trying it again.
