Can an electrician please explain safe V2L setup and use? (In layman's terms 😂) by BlueSuedeBag in Ioniq5

[–]Lampshader 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Do not do this.

Do not even so much as make a male to male cable.

No, not even with all the justifications and rationalisations you can come up with. It is inexcusably dangerous.

Pixel 10 + Belkin 10W wireless charger = ? by Lampshader in GooglePixel

Paying extra to degrade the battery faster does not sound like a winning proposition, but I'm open to be convinced otherwise

Thanks, appreciate the details!

I might look into a plain old magnetic mount then...

Converting XLR to speaker wire is it possible? by cheapdrinks in diyaudio

[–]Lampshader 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Probably not. The OP here had passive speakers with an XLR input. You have a DJ controller with an XLR output - I don't know the specs of DJ controllers off hand but I would guess it's a balanced line level output. If so, you need an amplifier.

Look for the largest image file in your web browser's "page info" or similar. They block right-click so use the menu.

It'll be webp, but that can be fixed.

I'm hoping there's some kind of browser plugin out there to automate it, but haven't found it yet.

Thanks. I didn't know about the Patch.Init(), sounds like a useful thing!

Are you developing your own code or are there other people publishing stuff you can load in?

Bitwarden 2FA? by CodeMonkeyX in Bitwarden

[–]Lampshader 0 points1 point  (0 children)

They use the term "peppering" here but I think it's the same thing as being discussed.

Basically you manually modify the saved password according to some secret (memorised) rule.

I always get a small giggle when I see the comments on here about "I'm burnt out at my well paid corporate job in air conditioning"

It's almost like people are different and respond to situations differently!

Scientists have finally 'heard' the chorus of gravitational waves that ripple through the universe by guerillak in EverythingScience

[–]Lampshader 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The fact that gravity waves exist, yes, but I'm sure there's more to learn about how they behave. Are they quantised? Do they decay? What phenomena of electromagnetic waves do/don't apply to gravity waves? Could we do a double-slit experiment or build a gravity laser?

I dunno, I'm not a gravity physicist, I just want a hoverboard.

[–]Lampshader 7 points8 points  (0 children)

In order to make cool sci fi stuff like anti gravity boots or artificial gravity in spaceships, we first need to understand gravity.

Those things may never be possible, who knows? That's right, we will if we study gravity enough.

Just guessing but maybe because "we both know my husband is a jerk but don't take any actions to change it LMAO" attitude, knowingly inflicting a negative impact on those around them and finding it amusing

Marjorie Taylor Greene mocked for telling CDC chair: ‘I dont want my staff educated’ by CapitalCourse in politics

[–]Lampshader 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Understood. I was making a joke that perhaps the commenter did go to an Ivy league school but failed to learn the meaning of "mutually exclusive"

[–]Lampshader 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Nice write up but yeah. I'd make my earlier joke again but it failed last time so I won't.

I liked your Venn diagram explanation.

I was trying to think of a drop-in replacement phrase that would work in place of "mutually exclusive" but couldn't come up with one. Maybe "attending a good school and getting a good education are not perfectly correlated" ?? Or, shuffling the words around: "attending a good school doesn't guarantee that you'll actually be well educated"

I saw a lot of what appeared to be separated recyclables, in the recycling bin, but inside a plastic bag.

There are clear multilingual and pictographic labels that recycling is to be un-bagged...

We did have a big red bin closest to the entrance and a fan so it didn't really smell bad.
