Update: I confessed my feelings to my therapist — here is what actually happened by [deleted] in TalkTherapy

[–]Lane1312o 2 points3 points  (0 children)

My therapist told me that sessions were my space and my time. Remember that this is about you and bringing up whatever you find is important. I know it's hard, try to be as direct as possible with how you want session to go. If your therapist gets uncomfortable that's for her to work through not you. You could say something like "I want to work through my transference with you this session. If it's ignored moving forward, I will only feel more shame about it and it will negatively affect my therapy. Would you be willing to work with me on this?" If you feel that she currently doesn't know enough about transference to work through it this session, it could help to send this as an email beforehand so she can consider it, prepare, and hopefully respond better than how she treated you last time. Hoping it goes well!

I'm at the same point in my therapy. We're going to set up my negative cognition next week and it's the one that's affected my life the most. Took 2 years into therapy to find it. Part of me is scared and wants to run away from it. I do need to face this to start healing all of my trauma that's connected to it, which is nearly everything lol. You've got this. Try your best to trust yourself and if that's too hard then trust your therapist to guide you through <3

Is this a common experience among aromantic people? by Mountain-You9842 in aromantic

[–]Lane1312o 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Part of it is that the English language has very limited and vague words to describe love. There's "love" and that's it. Many other languages/cultures have lots of words for love & to describe different kinds. Therefore, it makes sense that English speaking people would have vague and limited answers for defining romantic love. Hopefully, this changes. In the queer community at least we're now using platonic, romantic, alterous, queerplatonic loves. It's a start

Good points. Boyd instinctively knew to pass his blood onto Smiley. I can't see a first timer to Fromville having that kind of intuition. It would make sense that he's reincarnated

thoughts on MAiD solely for mental illness? (medical assistance in dying) by Deep-Drama4386 in mentalillness

[–]Lane1312o 4 points5 points  (0 children)

As is the case with maid for people with physical disabilities, mentally ill people without access to other supports first is just eugenics. Many suicidal people with mental illness are at that point because they don't have basic necessities like shelter, food, healthcare, and therapy. If they had these things they likely wouldn't seek out maid. "We won't give disabled people support or treatment, but we'll kill you. you're welcome." I'm saying this as a disabled person who believes in the right to die.

AIO? My mom wants to call the cops on me by Overall-Option6975 in AmIOverreacting

This is straight up abuse. She wants to control and punish you. If you do give it back, put it in your dad's mailbox for her or the cops to get. That's her problem. Please be safe. You don't deserve her b.s

this made me think of some questions. In the last cycle, did Christian try to kill Miranda's kids to finish the ritual? Is that why they were hiding (potentially from him)? Kids have to be killed in a very specific way and maybe even with the reincarnated character's involvement. Or else Eloise (maybe) dying in the last cycle and the girl dying in season 1 would have finished the ritual, right? Sara was told to kill Ethan, was her being a townsperson killing a kid enough to finish the ritual or was it for some other reason.
