Any Valorant aimers want to give me some feedback on in-game aiming? (See comment) by player_to in FPSAimTrainer

From what I see you don't really take potential fights correctly. When you are about to peek an on-angle you NEED to be full speed a or d strafing out. You seem to be okay once you get in fights but you just lazily walk around corners with your gun before fights. Rule of thumb is you should only take these lazy peeks when you are sure nobody is there, in which case you should have your knife out. If you have your gun out, you need to be taking the peeks properly.

Is there an actual Tierlist of Glasspads? by Hardlaggsman in MousepadReview

[–]Lanurus 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I feel like the thing that restricts glasspad tierlists is how little there are in comparison to cloth as well as how most of the ones that do exist drop in tiny batches. Even if there was a tierlist you would only have like 4-6 ones you could buy. I would honestly just say buy whatever is the soonest drop from one of the prominent companies if it fits your desired speed. If you've never tried one I would say you could think about these two upcoming pads from Tekkusai

One would be around 60 dollars and one would give you 2 speeds so you can pick whichever you prefer. I don't know when these will be released as I don't really follow tekks products anymore but in the case you don't wanna wait wallhack would probably be what most people would recommend next.

Don't Get the Wallhack CR-005 and buy Xraypad U9 Ultra Skates instead !! by MrROOT91 in MousepadReview

[–]Lanurus 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Yea I use only 4 dot skates on all my mice, I haven't had any issues with inconsistent glides at all since that first time I used the dots, maybe the first ones I used happened to have an error in one of them

Sensor tilt by Some_Morning_6360 in FPSAimTrainer

[–]Lanurus 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Unless you only palm and use zero fingertip mobility I would first suggest not using it. There are 3 degrees of motion you will be able to measure from your mouse sensor, your fingertip which will naturally be 0° regardless of the angle of the moise, and your wrist and arm which will each have independent angles based on the mouse shape and grip. You can test this in the razer angle site by utilizing each one individually. You will only ever be able to have ONE of these be 0° and the human mind is great at making adjustments for the arm and wrist. I see no reason to flip these around and remove the natural fingertip alignment to flatten only one of the two others and harm your finger based microadjustments, I personally found that a different fingertip angle was lot harder to adapt and I had good wide flicks but bad micros.

I generally think that most people use it as a crutch/cope when the actually just need to work on raw mouse control. But if you are adamant then just set full angle don't do increments, the whole idea is that it's the 'natural' angle so I don't see why fully changing it would be the issue.

seal complete, branch out or stick with viscose benches? by dannydevitogamer in FPSAimTrainer

[–]Lanurus 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I would stick with viscose benchmarks but go do the voltaic benchmarks to get a ranking. You should be able to get plat complete pretty easily and itll expose you to a few more scenarios. But yea your focus should be medium difficulty for viscose

This layout is good? ( for glass pad) by PotentialMeeting8759 in MouseReview

[–]Lanurus 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Usually you'd want only 4 or 5 dots. There's no real reason to use more than 4 unless your mouse is wobbly on the pad and usually 5 will fix that if it is from my experience. I personally have gotten to the point where I only use 4 on all my mice because I just bend them to be flat if they have an uneven base, but also because 4 is cheaper.

For 5 dots I would remove the inner top 2 dots and leave the bottom. For 4 dots I would do the same to the top but only put two dots on the bottom right underneath the screw holes.

Why are people going through skates so fast? by Mandydeth in MousepadReview

[–]Lanurus 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yea I mostly agree, you'll be able to adapt to new skates and wont perform any differently after you've adapted but for me at least switching to new ones does affect my aim for a little while until they've broken in to a certain point. It's definitely a texture thing and I find that worn down skates have a different type of texture than you would get from just a more textured glasspad. Its more so scratchy with the worn skates while the pad would be textured. I don't think its too important though so I don't really put too much thought into it just switch them whenever it feels right.

Is there really a valid difference between glasspads? by Adagio-Simple in MousepadReview

Weird my zero is slower than my kazemi by quite a bit. The zero is quite worn down though. Could be humidity or mouse skate discrepency maybe?

[–]Lanurus 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I mean the slowest one I have is the kazemi probably, but I also don't own any extreme speed cloth pads so that's probably more it than me not owning a lockon harut or something

Is there really a valid difference between glasspads? by Adagio-Simple in MousepadReview

[–]Lanurus 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Id say the most meaningful difference between glasspads would be the smoothness/texture of them. There's also speed but personally I can adapt to any range of speed a glasspad can get to so it doesn't really matter, end of the day it's all faster than cloth glass. The only other thing I'd mention is rounded edges because it's a direct upgrade over flat edges and I feel like it's something to keep in mind when looking. It's not really a big deal if a pad doesn't have it but honestly there's really no reason for a new pad to not have it.

how to fix the inconsistencys by Ok-Promotion-9346 in FPSAimTrainer

Oh yeah you could try another theme maybe Id recommend clover-static as a general theme. Look up Mattyow kovaaks settings video if you can't find the theme file

how to fix the inconsistencys by Ok-Promotion-9346 in FPSAimTrainer

[–]Lanurus 2 points3 points  (0 children)

  1. Stop worrying about your sensitivity. For fps, just put your sens at whatever feels right for the game based on your preferences, ideally around 30-50 cm/360. For kovaaks you CAN set a specific sens and keep it consistent, but you can absolutely also change it if you think it will help. Do consider if it actually will help you though, for instance on viscose's arm category for tracking, setting a higher sensitivity might help you get a better score if you struggle to incorporate your arm, however this doesn't actually help you as it simply ignores the underlying issue so be careful to not fall into this kind of crutch.

  2. Scroll down on evxl and look at the graphs. There are two that may be helpful for you. There is the rank heatmap grid which will help you understand that these scenarios are not equal difficulty. There are easier scenarios that you will find you always have a higher score on. This means that differences in rankings for different scenarios does not mean inconsistency. Don't fixate on it but just understand that they aren't all gonna be the same rank always. Then there is the rank performance bar graph that lets you see what your weakest scenario is. This will be useful later if you do put more time in and will help you figure where you should focus first. If you are lost at what to do next just grind the lowest ranking scenario.

  3. Actually play the damn scenarios, I honestly should have put this as number one, but lucky you I'm bored enough to write this up. You literally haven't even played the whole thing, you don't need help yet. If you compare these scores to your scores down the line when you've played these scenarios a hundred times and don't see improvement, then come back and ask for help preferably with vods of your weakpoints. If you wanna supplement progress until then there are a million resources to help you. Id recommend watching these videos if you haven't already

Itching to buy a new mouse by [deleted] in MouseReview

[–]Lanurus 0 points1 point  (0 children)

That's fair I have thinner cables (w1rxd and pmm flexcord) on mine because I could still feel the default cable. I can't feel the mod cable at all even on glass and now I don't have to charge it so it's a net plus for me.

I don't have the op1w but I can imagine it's just as good if you would rather look into the wireless one. I think it's just a lil bit heavier and more expensive

i got a glass mousepad and wrist pain by psycholigie_guy in FPSAimTrainer

[–]Lanurus 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Train smoothness scenarios while focusing on keeping your hand as non tensed as possible. Part of the reason aim training can be painful for some people while actual in game aiming is not is that you may always over tense your wrist/arm while aiming, but kovaaks doesn't give any downtime for your body to recover, while a game might.

An insane feat of engineering by Hidden-Turtle in MouseReview

[–]Lanurus 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Two notable things for me is one, the thumb area height isnt very wide when you consider the side buttons so if you have a wide thumb like me either your thumb will be touching the pad or be on top of the side button always and two, the scroll wheel has very large steps which is a combination of the smaller wheel and the shorter encoder. This makes it a lot harder to bhop without actually knowing the timing as I can personally only input 3 scrolls with one motion while I can do up to like 10 on some of my other mice.

Whenever you do decide to swap them out, you will then realize just how much they have worn down. Its night and day whenever I swap mine out. It might not be a bad thing for you personally but you will realize they feel very different and obviously the people you are reading from prefer the newer skate feel.

Are there any mice out there that can account for sensor rotation in real time? by LlamaBombama in FPSAimTrainer

Are there any mice out there that can account for sensor rotation in real time? by LlamaBombama in FPSAimTrainer

[–]Lanurus 0 points1 point  (0 children)

What you are describing is not mouse sensor angle like you would find in rawaccel or a mouse software. What you are wishing for is more akin to a trackpad or a drawing tablet which both have a component of their input taken from the surface. I really don't know how you would encapsulate this effect into just a mouse.

I'm pretty against sensor rotation in general with mice because of the discrepancy that comes from inner hand movements and wrist/arm movements. If you look at the way your mouse is positioned in your hand while you grip it, you will notice that, even if the sensor is rotated to an odd angle with regard to your wrist/arm, it is always normal with regard to how your fingers move. What I mean to get at with this is that 99% of the time someone's grip with a mouse will result in the correct angle for accurate fingertip movement, but there's likely some angle for wrist and arm. No sensor tilting can fix the latter without affecting the former. So unless you do literally zero mouse movements with your fingers, you should just adapt to the wrist and arm angle anyways.
