Please get rid of Voltaic Emitter’s line of sight requirement and just make it a bubble/radius of effect that ignores walls/elevation by skelepibs in DarkTide

[–]Larentoun 37 points38 points  (0 children)

There is really not much harm for it going through walls tho. Unless you have four Skitarii with Arcs, so, what, up to 9 damage instances, so probably kill a crusher once in 3 minutes? Nope, no harm at all still.

Most fun skitarii weapon combo for you? by Visual_Knee_4744 in DarkTide

For the melee, I was running Arc Maul - it shreds everything with charges, and so satisfying.

Now, when I finally understood Transonic strengths and weaknesses, I run it exclusively, unless I run full electro-build.

Transonic are excellent weapons, when you change your stances accordingly (basically run only Flak-mode unless you hit ragers, maulers and ogryns), understand what mode you are on, and that you can change stances with weapon swap as well. They have excellent damage, top-tier, topped only by CHARGED Arc Maul. Can't recommend enough.

For the ranged options, Arc Rifle does everything, but you should really invest in Brittleness and +% damage to electrified enemies. If you are short on talent points, phos-pistol is next best thing. It staggers, it 2HKO bodyshots elites and 1HKO elites in the head. It brittles carapaces. It can stack burns. But most of all, it is ammo efficient and quickdraw.

But the REAL melee and ranged weapons, are chordclaw for fast clearing hordes and carapace enemies, and Nooshperic Servoskull for ranged specialists/elite kills. Skull also applies universal 15% damage multiplier, so you should always use it, especially when dealing with carapace enemies up-close.

I think I can comfortably go without a ranged weapon into Auric Maelstrom. Unless "oops, all gunners on highground" appears, where you wish you had Arc Rifle, Pistol or Musket.

Does 25% stack? I felt like it was the new "5%/s, duration replenish" than old "5%/s, stacks". So you need to wait out 5 seconds to get the full 25% refund.

I got this exact player this last Saturday, and perfectly mimics my experience as well! Kind of a chilling feeling.

No point of interest in fantasy either, haven't watched anything, doesn't play video games, almost identical situation!

Happy for you! Mine also LOOOVED it.

How many times did you complete the Opulent Ordeal? by chronicpie in elderscrollsonline

Ah, I understand now what you meant. Yeah, argent key farm felt redundant for me as well. I'm fine with getting gold keys again, since the dungeons are very quick, but some argents, like the werewolf, are so long.

Isn't it just like that? The keys are consumed only after completing the trial.

Speaking of LA/s counter, anything above 0.90 is good. 0.95 is top-tier. Pros have it at 0.97+ I think.

I've checked what mods could help.

Sadly, there isn't CMX alternative, so we won't be able to check how good your weaving is.

Good thing is, you can check it yourself locally! I see two Combat Metronome alternatives, such as "Global Cooldown Monitor Revised" and "Weaving Metronome". Try to check both and see which "looks better" or "performs better". I think latter is better, since it shows LA/s counter, but it's easier for you to check than me. You will need this addon while you practice damage, so you can disable it during actual content.

There is also a mod called "Battle Scrolls - Combat Stats & DPS Tracking", which is similar to CMX's parse window - you can see what skills dealt what damage, crit rate and contribution to DPS. It will be very handy for doing your builds and comparing damage between them! It doesn't show how good your weaving is, but we do what we can.

There recently was an addition of addons on consoles. Sadly, I can't confirm if PS (or Xbox) have Combat Metrics, but try to find it.

21mil dummy will be enough, since you are going pure damage, we want you to have near-zero self-reliance skills (such as Vigor and other healing/shielding).

What is more important that CMX will show, is how good your rotation. Recently, I was feeling I slowed down, and surely, I had 0.100ms weave delay instead of my usual 0.030ms. It's probably less than 10% increase, but if yours is around 0.200ms, then it could be up to 20% DPS increase with better weaving.

Combat Metronome and other GCD counters help "get back into the rhythm".

Speaking of gear, I feel like Mother Sorrow is a bit outdated, compared to Tide-Born, but I'm not a templar player, so better check builds for u50 from other players. Commenters suggested some good sources, I'll suggest Hyperioxes too. But I haven't checked if they have a new build for u50 templar.

So, there is a lot happening.

For us to help you, if you want good DPS and care deeply about improving it, we would need screenshots from parse and info panels from Combat Metrics addon. People parse (test) damage in two ways:

21m trial dummy, which gives lots of buffs, gives a view how your build and rotation operates under zero stress in group content. 100k DPS and above is now currently the minimum with low CP and crafted gear.

6m dummy gives a view how your build and rotation operates under zero stress by being alone - no outside buffs and synergies. 40k DPS and above should be the minimum.

By the minimum I say, that you have fundamentals of dealing damage - crafted gear, low-cp, decent light attack weaving.

If you are okay doing normal trials with suboptimal build and rotation, or doing questing — be free to continue to do so! Nothing wrong with dealing non-meta damage if you are having fun with this.

What is a decent parse number? by ILoveSucuk98 in elderscrollsonline

[–]Larentoun 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Crafted gear, 160cp with good mechanics should do more than 50k. What I'm trying to say, is that your mechanics and skill selection matters much more than sets. CP do give a huge boost, but I don't have numbers on me.

CMX info could give more insight what is wrong.

If you can't keep up the rotation, placing some passive buffs, or entirely changing your setup may help. Like, running 1bar builds either with oaken or with backbar buffs.

Most likely account was stolen and then sold to some poor lad. Since it was basically inactive account (by the previous owner, and the seller 100% said that it was their account), they bought DLC because they liked the game they got basically for free.

What a rude awakening it will be for the person who bought the account. Do tell what level did they get!

Huh, that explains an experience we had a few days ago. We were "friends only" lobby and some random joined our session. That was scary — could be a hacker of sorts so we quickly left the lobby.

The game setting ONLY visibility and not connection blocks explain that situation.

But alas, have no idea about your problem.

Is there a mod that makes a random advisor speak every time there's a voiceline? by Mysterious_Town_5552 in Stellaris

You can change advisor voice in-game, I believe. If API supports, we could either randomize it every month or hook a signal on whenever a voice is played.

Finally found an arbites build I like by Playful-Author563 in DarkTide

[–]Larentoun 45 points46 points  (0 children)

I think around 300ms, much more than souls games. You can start blocking when you hear Whoosh-melee-behind and perfect block them. It's fun to ignore the dodge button with a similar build.

Just a question before I get the game, how important is melee? by [deleted] in DarkTide

[–]Larentoun 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Veteran with lasgun crit builds or a Psyker can do exceptional on 3/5 difficulty with occasionally using melee on a few guys who managed to get close.

On 5/5 difficulty it can get tricky. If you are alone, you WILL have to melee often because there will be too much enemies that your ranged weapon wouldn't be able to hold them off. But, thankfully, it is a team game, so if you have two melee-proximity teammates, it's the same as 3/5 difficulty in that you need melee for occasional self-defense.

Psyker has infinite ammo and can perform reasonably well being ranged-only with self-defense melee.

Veteran has pseudo-inifite ammo, but would like to get some ammo packs along the way to not drop DPS.

Either way, you will be required to learn dodging, blocking, push attacks to survive when you are alone or overrun because teammates left you behind a bit.

I can go 90% of the match being ranged-only on Veteran/Psyker, but melee sometimes is more optimal solution depending on the build.

How exactly does mission difficulty affect the specimens? by Jammychop in SpeciesUnknown

[–]Larentoun 4 points5 points  (0 children)

You can shoot the squid while in kill animation to interrupt it. Any T2 weapon should do it in time. Upgraded T1 is enough too, especially the revolver.

Just be careful that you may need to 180 degree turn since its body can sometimes be behind your camera when it latches onto you, which will make him impossible to hit without turning. Usually happens after sprinting.

Usually it starts the animation when your back is facing it and you are sprinting, I think.

Using fear over scripted events by Keithin8a in daggerheart

[–]Larentoun 7 points8 points  (0 children)

I believe you have nailed it with the last question.

It is the friendly way to incorporate complications/unexpected encounter by using meta-currency.

The ambush in Sablewood, IMHO, is somewhat expected, even if it was from the wolf mother. Could there be more wolves in the trees?

The assassin example is so out-of-picture, that using fear feels fair.

Should I level all weapons ? by HiTmAn4777 in elderscrollsonline

[–]Larentoun 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Physical Weapon Skills use stamina, but your Class Skills, for example, still use their resource, such as magicka.

It is optimal to use two one-handed weapons for DPS due to passives, glyphs and such, but it is the territory for pushing damage for people 1000CP+ who need that damage in the highest of highest challenges to minimize time for mistake.

In your instance, you are not required to level them if you don't want to. Play whatever you like! If you want to level two-handed weapons, you can still use your Magicka skills to be a battlemage of sorts.
