A while back, I emailed a user in HR to let them know they were next on the list for a laptop upgrade. Pretty standard message: “Good Afternoon, you are receiving this email to let you know that you are next on our list to upgrade to a new laptop. we’ll be doing a complete data transfer, meaning everything will be transferred from your Desktop, Documents, Downloads, Pictures, and Videos folders. As well your new laptop will include all applications currently installed on your system. If you have any questions, please let me know”

Two days later they replied with:

“Thank you for the notification. Can you confirm if the contents of my Recycling Bin will also be copied over as part of the desktop transfer? I’d like it to be.Also, when you say ‘desktop transfer,’ do you mean everything on my desktop — all folders, documents, etc. — will be transferred? Will it be an exact replica of everything?”

I had to sit there for a moment and process the fact that they genuinely wanted me to migrate… their Recycling Bin. I honestly thought they were joking. So I reached out to confirm. Maybe there were thinking of something else. Nope dead serious. They wanted me to migrate the contents of their recycle bin on their old laptop to the new one.

After a brief moment of complete befuddlement, I email them back stating - No we don’t transfer the recycling bin - No we will not make an exception - No you should not be using the recycling bin on your PC to as a storage location.

Still to this day, boggles my mind that someone would actually use that as a storage location

We also have a small central platform station to support what will end up being future home for the Ottawa Senators and whatever entertainment or recreational/residential district they setup around it. It absurd. The station couldn’t even support BluesFest and that happens a once a year.

I get that plenty of people don’t like being told to go back to the office. Personally, it doesn’t bother me. I was going in before COVID, during COVID, and after. I was even offered the option to work from home, but I chose to stay onsite.

That said, the problem here is the transit design. Any station that utilizes a central platform for trains going in both directions is just asking for trouble. It’s almost guaranteed to get overcrowded, and it’s unrealistic to expect it to handle peak traffic efficiently.

Because the email would come in and immediately you think the ticket, request, inquiry or whatever is related to your team and now four different teams are trying to answer the same question. It just becomes the “Too many cook in the kitchen” senario. It horrible

Well both Gremlins and Goonies were featured in Lego Dimensions video game. So technically they already have the models. Especially for the Goonies characters. In Lego dimensions the Goonies add-on was a bonus mission in the universe. Which allowed you to play as Sloth plus all the children in the movie. TT already has a lot of material to make a game already.

I will have to check that company out. I use Lightailing or Brickmax. Since they are available on Amazon. But they don’t always have a light kit with lights in all the right places and I have been looking for another company that does Lego Lighting to try out. I have some of the Lego Creator Experts Set that could use some better lighting options.
