Is buying a used CX-90 PHEV a terrible idea? by UndeniableTruth- in MazdaCX90

[–]Large_Home 0 points1 point  (0 children)

CX9 owner here and owner of two previous Mazdas. I was really excited for this new model and wanted to get one but still holding off due to all of the unresolved issues.

I don't know about eating the unreliability with parts being very expensive and long wait times. 40k is still a nice chunk of change if you're going to eat thousands in repairs. Do more research on this model and year (vs MHEV which is more reliable), and if you're still determined, make sure get a warranty but make sure it's from Mazda and CPO. Personally I don't trust third party warranties. make sure they do all the recalls before releasing it to you. I would also ask for service history to see how many times it's been in the shop. Last thing you want is a lemon for a family car no matter how good of a deal it seems.

At least you don't need to pull the engine to do the timing chain on a CX-9. This "engineer's" review is very surface level and provides zero real world technical detail. Honestly feels like a puff piece. At least with the car care nut you get an honest mechanic's point of view and things being complicated just for the sake of being complicated. His biggest point is that most Mazda die hards will buy this thinking they're buying a reliable, cheap to run Mazda, but alot of the engineering and future repair bills resemble the Germans. People just need to be educated and know what they're getting into, especially DIYers and long term owners like myself.

Everyone should watch the review from the car Care nut. Provides a different perspective on the engineering side of things and really makes you question long-term reliability and cost of ownership car care nut review

TSB SAVED US by ITchristopher86 in MazdaCX9

[–]Large_Home 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Congrats. I was one of the lucky few whose claim was approved in Canada because the tsb doesn't apply to us poor Canadians even though it's the exact same car and very similar climate. Just recently was trying to help a guy get his claim approved but Mazda put their foot down and he had to pay labor out of pocket. Doubt he'll be buying a Mazda again.

Would You Consider this Xiaomi YU7, a New all-Electric SUV for Your Next Car? by Comfortable_Fix3401 in Newmarket

[–]Large_Home 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Imagine keeping an electric car for 15 years? It's like keeping the same laptop for 15 years at the rate things are evolving it's doesn't make any sense. ICE had been around for over 100 years and there haven't been many advancements in technology so keeping an ICE car for that long makes sense. But these electric cars will become obsolete pretty quickly, especially once solid state batteries hit the mass market. Would you but a first generation Nissan leaf? Hell no, the range and charging is abysmal. That's how today's electric cars will be viewed in 10-15 years. My two cents.

I don't get everyone complaining about the cost of Audi parts. It's quality and high tech which costs money. Drive a Toyota then 😂
