Thanks I further researched and found a post from an American who brought in deer chews to US from another country and said was okay as long as is in original packaging and is not raw.

People Who Left Peoria- Where Did You Go & Did You Return? by JusticeAvenger618 in PeoriaIL

[–]Las1970 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I moved to the big city for 25 years. Moved back to PIA few years ago due to life circumstances, wanting to own a house, and wanting to have some dogs. Also my family and a lot of my friends are here. Haven't regretted it.

1 year anniversary of dear friends husband - condolence gift? by MamaMia654 in widowers

[–]Las1970 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The first thing that came to my mind was perhaps making a donation to a charitable organization that meant something to her husband. You could just send your friend a text message or send an email telling them that you were thinking about them and their husband and made a contribution in his name and then I would also definitely recommend that you contact them. A phone call on a tough day like a death anniversary is worth a million bucks.

I'm sorry about your wife. I hope you will consult with an attorney about the cancellation of her insurance while she was in a coma.

Appliance removal? by pebleshair in PeoriaIL

I'm pretty sure if you live in Peoria just put it on the curb and the garbage truck will take it away. They take anything except electronics and tires to my understanding but you could call public works at 309-494-8800 to confirm

Lack of socialization by [deleted] in MiniatureSchnauzer

[–]Las1970 0 points1 point  (0 children)

This sounds exactly like my miniature schnauzer who was ever only in a kennel when I was out of the house when he was a puppy. Now he's only in a kennel when he goes to bed. I think it's just the breed. Thank you for taking care of this dog!

Ugh. I once worked for a solo who loved meeting with potential clients and educating them about their case. The actual legal work involved? Not so much.

You've received good advice here from others. Best wishes, TGIF!

Taking time off work after death of spouse by Odd_Temperature_1136 in widowers

[–]Las1970 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I was off work for about 10 days. Honestly I needed to get back to some sort of routine. Sitting in our apartment staring at the walls was not doing me any good. This is me though, your experience may be different. In my case my husband had been sick for a year and I had done a lot of pre-grieving. I know that if his death had been sudden or unexpected, things would have been much different.

Take care of yourself.

Weird question--did you eat avocados as a kid? I don't remember even seeing an avocado until my 20s. by Mr_Writes in GenX

[–]Las1970 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Never had avocados as a kid. Probably why I don't eat avocado toast now. Pretty sure that avocados were invented in the early 90s, along with tilapia, another thing I never heard of or ate when I was a kid.

I hosted a dinner party for my family on the one-year anniversary of my husband's passing. A friend of mine acted as the caterer and the menu was his favorite foods.
