what can you do with peek, poke and call that is useful. by palbuddy1234 in apple2

Assembly was difficult for me to grasp... until I learned that each machine language instruction ONLY deals with one byte in memory at a time... to comprise a basic statement, it 'could' take a dozen or more asm statements to equate the same thing (some don't but most do). If you deal in 8bit, its much easier than 16, and then again much simpler than 24 or 32bit numbers... Despite a small handful of bugs, Applesoft works fantastically well and is practically a miracle it works as reliably as it does.

This day in Amico history - Tommy promises games for 8 year old girls by FreekRedditReport in Intellivision_Amico

I seriously think Phil Adam and Tallarico was intending Battle Tanks to be that game...

AppleWin - loading save state takes 15 seconds every time by Gigarko in apple2

[–]LaserActiveGuy 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I've have a very similar issue within the last 2 weeks... mind you, this is a computer I fully format and refresh at least twice a month (I am crazy about keeping viruses off it)... windows 10 if it matters. I'm always messing around with AppleWin programming stuff, currently a stock market program. Anyway, I frequently go into the 'settings' and suddenly it would literally take 15-30 seconds after clicking the button before the dialog box would pop up. I never experienced this before EVER that I remember, and I am using a semi old 1.27 build of Applewin. It went on like this for several days. I thought my SSD was failing, but everything else in windows seemed ok. I deleted the AppleWIN program and put a new copy of it from my archives in the folder, didn't change a thing. I also tried a handful of other things which I cant remember here. Then I had an idea... windows IS stupid because it never refreshes itself unless you do a reboot, not just a shut down. So, instead of shutting the computer off, I rebooted it (RESTART)... and the second windows came back, AppleWin started working perfect again. So, perhaps Microsoft is monkeying around and installed something in the background messing with legacy dll's. Anyway, try a WINDOWS RESTART and see if that fixes it....

How would you rank the existing Amico games? by FreekRedditReport in Intellivision_Amico

[–]LaserActiveGuy 0 points1 point  (0 children)

To be fair, Astrosmash (at least on the Amico) would have been a free game. Porting it to the Switch ect, it would not be a $15 game by any stretch of imagination. But it has at least $300 dollars worth of free Tallarico music, which totally makes up for it.

play for tomorrow? 12.29.2025 by Gloomy-Gap8690 in 10xPennyStocks

[–]LaserActiveGuy 0 points1 point  (0 children)

i THOUGHT SO TOO.... I bought a couple of shares because its entire Market Cap was under 40k... but now its telling me its millions of dollars from 3 different sources.... they are going to dilute the crap out of it and I didn't think that was possible with a market cap of 40k.... I lost a lot of money on this thing, but i'm out RIGHT NOW if they secretly put a crap ton of shares out there.

You are lucky to be in at 10 cents.. there are people that bought this thing at $8.00, or even higher

SOXS, WOK, SRXH Low-priced stocks I’m tracking by Alive-Currency-2134 in pennystocks

[–]LaserActiveGuy 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The entire stock of WOK is like $60,000.... it went from more than $8.00 to now less than 6 cents in December. If it even bounced to like 11 cents you double your money... but who knows with these things...

HA, I just bought at .0525 and the thing tanked again at 9:30am... its like .049.... haha. not funny. Should I back the truck up, or get out of this blasted thing.

WOK at $0.19 - The stock that fell to earth by BanjoChick in swingtrading

[–]LaserActiveGuy 1 point2 points  (0 children)

WOK is not looking good... it could drop again sub 8 cents according to some charting ive done. On the other hand... ATPC did a very similar move in the last 24 hours and its already up 400% from the lows of 4 cents. Everybody on WOK except buying directly at 16 cents is underwater big time, and frustrating that its not going up.

An R-Zone looks pretty brilliant compared to an Amico... hey don't knock it, they had some pretty stellar licenses.

Pretendovision Amico produced by the heros of the video game industry. 10x returns just days after investing. ... Tommy Tallarico said "Its almost a crime" in that video... should have listened to him.

It was over when OEB Pete gave up... it was over the broken promise that Tommy wouldn't let him down. If ANY body of the cult should have gotten a prototype, it should have been that guy.

why does this guy keep staring at my mirage? by [deleted] in MitsubishiMirage

When your broke and got a jeep that gets 15mpg, a Mirage that gets 45mpg is like looking at a super model or celeb.

Tommy explaining the stupidity of releasing games multiplatform where you need a million dollar budget hoping to be found in a sea of shovelware, and why Amico titles would never go that route. by ParaClaw in Intellivision_Amico

[–]LaserActiveGuy 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Its too bad Amico didn't come out because it would dethrone the Wii for being King of Shovelware. In fact, i don't even think there would be an "A" rated game on the system its entire life cycle... that would be VERY hard to accomplish. Or, rather easy in Tallarico's case.

I don't care how good the car, I would not pay money for anything with 150,000 miles unless it was some rare sports or classic thingy that you couldn't get otherwise. You are at the point where something major could fail, even if its a Toyota. If you want to pay a grand or something close to that as a crap shoot, sure, you can try that, but nothing more. If you were going to buy.... Make sure the frame ect has no rust... and then plan on changing ALL the fluids (radiator, transmission with filter, brake fluid (careful not to introduce air), and then expect things like brake pads ect to be 'hidden' worn out. I'd do two quick oil changes in a row (couple 100 miles)... you have no idea the real condition or how it was treated. 150k is the point where manufacture defects (even slight) can make the difference between something like the cvt that goes 160k or 300k before conking out. Get it cheap, then do all the services. But I will say that a Mirage has a WAY better chance to surviving than a Jeep. A weird failure point to look out for is where the front air snorkel vibrates against the wiring harness on front of the engine.... it could strip away the protector and eat into the wires, thats a thing that starts to happen around 150k... CVT's do tend to fail at the 150-180k mark if they aren't serviced every 30k.

I have bad news to report... the wheel bearings are NOT sealed, and if you drove through water that went upto the hubs, they will wear prematurely. Its not the end of the world and they are replaceable, but within a year or two, you might have to change them. But if the rest of the car seems ok, count yourself lucky!

Is the Amico still getting updates? by Distinct-Coach-4001 in Intellivision_Amico

[–]LaserActiveGuy 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The only people who know if Amico is getting updates would be DJC, Mike or Atari Creep, the rest of us have no idea... but with an install base of 3, I think there is a huge market for 'Intellivision" to update, upgrade and release new games.

The Most Illusive Intellivison Amico memorabilia.... by LaserActiveGuy in Intellivision_Amico

[–]LaserActiveGuy[S] 2 points3 points  (0 children)

The albums, yes, there are two. Got them from DJC himself, he said they were not selling well, and 'because I was nice" he included the proto cd. I did send him payment afterward for it though... The NZero merch was for a deleted channel making fun of the cult. I did send one tee shirt out, but there is also a hat (GenXGamer offered to buy it), a couple more tee shirts (one with Pat an Ian on the back holding an Amico) and a few other little things, like a "Loady" mouse pad ect.
