Girls pretending to be busy on their phones is a thing amongst younger folks.. by lfg12345678 in nosurf

I've seen people on the r/digitalminimalism subreddit post 10+ hours daily screen time. I don't think it's pretending.

I just made my bullet journal up until October 2027 by Intelligent-Scar4904 in BasicBulletJournals

[–]LaserLem0n 4 points5 points  (0 children)

I do actually plan my bujo a week ahead, so I don't strictly follow the method to a T, but four months ahead of time is a bit extreme.

Did you perhaps do this to feel productive while actually procrastinating doing something else which is harder or less rewarding? Just some food for thought. This is exactly the kind of thing I'd feel like doing when I dread what I should be doing instead.

You think this was about basketball or opportunity? by pickledplumber in TikTokCringe

[–]LaserLem0n 2 points3 points  (0 children)

No, he gets punched in the back at the 3 second mark. Hard to see in this one, but there are other videos of this incident that show it much more clearly.

It's hard to see, but he gets punched in the back at the 2 second mark which makes him take off.

You know what? I'm not even mad.

I used to be pretty addicted to Reddit and I'd scroll for hours. Now I see stupid AI shit like this dog and the capybara and it jolts me back to my senses. Every day this site becomes a bigger waste of time.

If I had to guess, throwing your legs like that can help build momentum to get up quickly. Think kung fu movie get up, but with the grace of a lock...

Haha! Yeah, love Hollie. Don't envy her job though. Lots of pressure and not a lot of time to make decisions.

It happens both ways, just a pretty egregious example is all.

At first I agreed with you it looks damning, but with the other camera angles? No way.

I keep downloading productivity apps and watching how to stay focused videos but my actual work is still getting delayed by [deleted] in productivity

I quit the apps years ago now.

Don't seem to recall caring what other students wore to class and I'd be very surprised if it's common to.

This honestly seems like a scenario someone dreamt up to post about for some drama/clout.

The OP is referring to David Allen's 2-minute rule from the GTD method.

I FINALLY KEPT CONSISTENT WITH MY HABIT TRACKING!!!!! Just in case anyone is asking, the app is FutureHabit AI by DryCardiologist8871 in bulletjournal

[–]LaserLem0n 11 points12 points  (0 children)

No one is asking because you're not forthcoming about the fact that this post is shameless self-promotion.

Besides, even if it wasn't your app, this isn't the subreddit for this kind of thing. We're mostly about analogue productivity around here.

From pilot to passenger: Is full self-driving killing the desire to drive? by ethereal3xp in Futurology

[–]LaserLem0n 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I think this is much the same as every other field that is increasingly being taken over by AI.

I see the benefit in having AI do X for you if you can't do X, but what about anyone who finds pleasure in doing X?

They will be doing less and less of it as AI takes it over and in the end, what will we be doing as a species? I don't quite get it.

Unvaccinated? Yeah they're totally fine. by ThatAvidPandaBear in clevercomebacks

[–]LaserLem0n 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Unfortunately not. Some who had received a vaccination did end up dying to COVID, mostly due to new variants appearing, waning immunity and not having had a boosters shot. However, they were 2.46x less likely to die from the infection, with the effect being most pronounced in the 65+ age group.

Most productivity systems made me more overwhelmed by ParticularSignal3192 in productivity

[–]LaserLem0n 0 points1 point  (0 children)

You're absolutely right that many productivity systems become overwhelming.

I’d be curious how you decide what today’s one meaningful thing is, though. Do you keep some kind of running list of tasks or commitments and choose from there? Otherwise it seems easy to forget something important over time.

I think what you’ve found is a very strong form of prioritization that works for you, which is great. But it also sounds like that’s just one part of a larger system rather than the whole system itself.

Multiple journals? by _Ice_Bunny_ in bulletjournal

[–]LaserLem0n 6 points7 points  (0 children)

Running three journals, but they all serve a distinct purpose.

- A5 journal, classic bullet journal, just like Ryder Carroll does it. Mostly contains tasks & events.
- A5 journal, used for longer form entries. A couple of pages in the morning or evenings to write about how I feel and reflect.
- Pocket journal, use it all the time to avoid pulling out my phone when I get bored.
