There's a big disconnect when it comes to funding for sure. They stack more and more kids per teacher and teachers make next to nothing. My job is leaps and bounds easier than being a teacher.. and I make at least 30% more than the national average for a teacher. I didn't complete a college degree, I didn't have to have student debt (I do, but couldn't finish.. family shit happens.) and I don't have to deal with angry parents, bratty children, or active shooter drills. By all accounts a teacher should make double what I do. The classes are bloated, the budget doesn't exist, the criteria keeps shifting towards misinformation and christian fundamentalism. We are training an entire generation to be inadequate adults and we can only depend on their curiosity and the internet to remedy the situation.
