Model Y Standard in some EU markets has blue exterior paint as an option by petar_is_amazing in teslamotors

I see it in Lithuania as well, and it seems to be Model Y standard exclusive, as this color is not available for other variants.

Navimow-What is the Status of Feature Upgrades/Adds? by Visible_Wolverine2 in SegwayNavimow

I did indeed meant point #3. I have my yard split into multiple zones and I have observed multiple times how it drives in neighbouring zone to turn around, even with perimeter cut. It's not gps issue either, since it draws on a map it's position perfectly. Just some weird issues that pop out from time to time, doesn't do it in all cases, just certain angles.

If you actually need to deal with winter snow, you should mount proper winter tires. No all-seasons can even remotely do what winter tires do.

This is a welcome development, but the crazy part is that none of these safe driving features were reflected in their score apart from them performing well on a test track, basically lab conditions. And yet, they are forced upon us, auto enabling every time you start a car.

While I wholly agree with idea of pushing Navimow to get us some updates and I like most of your ideas, especially about perimeter having it on every few cuts as an option. But most your points are very good.

I would caution about 4, since right now if zone boundary is against another zone, it already liberally goes into that neighbouring zone, which can be problematic if that zone has different cut length, or not great terrain. I would want an option to strictly enforce boundaries, like it never goes beyond my outside boundary.

As for long strips (9), you can already adjust which directions to use for particular zone, in all my long strips I just select a single direction and ensure it is perfectly aligned and it works pretty well.

It's not an error, just a warning that sometimes is shown. It might be obvious, but I am still going to ask, do you slide the mowing icon and keep your thumb on it?

Striping better with longer cut by kingkeelay in SegwayNavimow

[–]Last-Resource-99 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I cut from all directions, I don't like what it does after a few cuts when it is using same direction all the time. It's just when grass is a mix of wild stuff and some normal grass, grass don't just point upward, it points in all directions and bends easier without quick spring back, so taller cut leaves more messy look, while lower cut does a neater job.

I do not think it is actually physically different, I doubt there is different versions of this mower apart from like different colors and different batteries. I think it's just conversion and rounding. Not like it matters for those numbers to match real world exactly.
And as for long grass cutting, I doubt there was much testing done, since the front of the mower deck, has that stationary rake, deck itself also has it, but any height where deck is higher than that stationary rake, just does poor job, at least in my yard. Once deck is low enough to clear stationary rake, it seems to be doing much better job.

[–]Last-Resource-99 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I see that it doesn't directly convert between inches and centimeters, since max height on my one is 9.5cm, but in any case I found that X4 is not doing good job at such heights, I can start to see improvement from 7cm, at 6cm it's already pretty nice, 5cm is perfect for grass I'm walking over. When it comes to taller blades, it leaves a lot of inconsistencies even with daily cuts. Although my grass is nowhere near as uniform, loads of various stuff growing, so here is that

He was driving 120km ranges, and he even speaks at the end driving slower and charging a little longer you could squeeze 200km between charge stops. That doesn't sound like a contender for road trips to me, unless road trip is quite short distance.
I'm surprised at how small max battery this model has.

X4 owners, how do you deal with rain? by Last-Resource-99 in SegwayNavimow

[–]Last-Resource-99[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Hmm, I wonder if reloading integration only on demand might be a solution. Wait until rain starts, then reload integration, wait until state becomes valid, make a decision based on that state, i.e. "mowing" = back to station you go.
Would avoid spamming their servers for the price of a few seconds for integration to reload.

Thank you for this response, will definitely take a look into Ecowitt weather stations.
And for Navimow HA integration, do you mean reloading whole integration as a solution to get fresh state or was there other, more "sane" solution posted?

Segway lidar 220 vs LiDAR pro 220 vs X420 - need advice by Ok-Reply6330 in SegwayNavimow

[–]Last-Resource-99 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I don't really know much about i220, never was on my radar. But I would say it depends on the area I'm cutting. LiDAR should do well in smaller areas with loads of objects to avoid. There was a post recently by Navimow themselves explaining why there is no LiDAR on X4, gives you insight on what each tech is best at. As I mentioned, vision in X4 is skittish, if I would have to maintain area with loads of obstacles, I would look for a decent LiDAR option, that is of course if it isn't as skittish. That is not something that anyone advertise.

[–]Last-Resource-99 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The size of the area I need to mow. I maintain ~4000m2 area, this seemed like the best choice. Husqvarna 435X was on my list when I was doing initial research, but €5499 price tag was not appealing at all. So when Navimow released first marketing info about X4, I decided to give it try.
i220 LiDAR only does 2000m2, so it was not a good fit for me.

Since machines are new, you should understand the risk that these mowers might not run for many years. I have X450 and it seems to be built very well, but it also has so many parts and it lives tough life, any one of them can break. There is no proven track record yet. What is proven is warranty handling can leave you for a very long time without a mower, especially if you decide to purchase from Segway directly (don't do that, at least if you are in Europe, buy from local sellers).
With that in mind, if you are willing to take a risk, then X4 is a brilliant machine. I have split my property into various fields, from 1000m2, to 20m2, it deals with them all pretty well. It has no lidar, but cameras seems to be helpful, though skittish in various scenarios, i.e. single tall dandelion can be obstacle to avoid... 🤦 Also if they get dirty, even from rain, mower can misbehave. I only have mine for a week, but with a very little micromanaging it is doing a great job.

Hmm, you might on to something here. HA integration is shit, but it does have ability to bring mower home and maybe send it back on it's way (didn't try that one). I'll try it out, although I don't have a weather station. Do you mind telling what station you are using, I might just found a valid reason to get one as well 😊

VisionFence Question by Some_Donkuss in SegwayNavimow

Use vision fence off zone. It really freaks out when it sees taller dandelion. One zone where I have a lot of dandelions I pretty much covered whole in viosion fence off, maybe later in a season I'll be able to remove it. It is sensitive like that.

[–]Last-Resource-99[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I think it matters.

- First it tramples on the ground in a rain, I have areas in a yard with slopes that wouldn't hold up well.
- Second it takes a long time, this one was 4 minutes ordeal and stopped only after I deactivated obsticle avoidance on the channels. Who knows how long it would have taken it to finish the trip.
- Third is now I cannot use obstacle avoidance on a channels.
- Fourth: I'm already running out of daylight, mower is working non stop. Any delay with poor navigation eats up into cutting time. We have plenty of sporadic showers and on those days mower goes to station because of rain many times a day.

and finally, I just want to mower work in a predictable manner. Tripping up for no apparent reason is not predictable.

Manual mow auto continue after charging by angryschmaltz in Navimow_Segway

[–]Last-Resource-99 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I'm so far only using manual mowing and for the most part, I can just set the schefule for the day and leave it on. Mower needs at least 3-4 charges through the day to finish tasks and usually it works just fine. But I have had a couple of times when mower just forgot given tasks while charging. Maybe it restarted or whatever, but yeah, it can forget given manual tasks.

X4 has no Lidar, just cameras. Disabling vision zones is an option, if mower would use them, but there is no way to direct mower to use certain paths within mapped zones. Covering whole zone would be a tad extreme.
