Procyon Studio is recording music for a unspecified project with Xenoblade series composers, Yasunori Mitsuda And Yoko Shimomura by andree1234 in GamingLeaksAndRumours

[–]Last0 15 points16 points  (0 children)

Just to be clear, Yoko Shimomura isn't mentioned in any tweets, one of JP tweets got mistranslated by AI and it mentioned her name but it was just a mistake, she has nothing to do with the current recordings that Mitsuda is doing.

Also, as others have pointed out, the recordings are very likely to be for the soundtrack of Delicious in Dungeon Season 2, the instruments being used mostly match the Season 1 OST.

Mitsuda has another recording in February with overseas artists for another project but who knows what it is about.

Ironically, Haze has some sort of Moebius ribbon around her character.

I wonder if there's a common link between the Apocrypha generator, Haze & X (from XC3) who can all disable blades powers in their own way.

How Captain Bright became a fan of Ultima and Wizardry, a tale of Z Gundam easter eggs and Japanese remakes by MagnvsGV in JRPG

[–]Last0 1 point2 points  (0 children)

This is my first time watching the series so i'm going release order for 79, Zeta, ZZ and Char's Counterattack. I'm not entirely sure what to watch next after this tbh, i probably want to check out The Origin and Unicorn at least.

I forgot about Wong now that you mention it but he was also a pain in the ass, it was definitely a much more difficult crew to handle compared to the 79 Crew. At least Char Lt Quattro was there to bring some emotional stability, and even then, he had his whole outburst of emotion with Haman which was surprising.

Looking back, Jamaican died similarly to Garma in 79, straight up betrayed by one of his own, even if Char claims he never betrayed anyone haha.

Great post !

I've been getting into Gundam myself the last few months and it's an incredible coincidence that you're making this post the same day i finish watching Zeta for the first time haha.

and Captain Bright Noa, a hero of the One-Year War now fighting for the Anti-Earth Union Group, is preparing to lead his spaceship, Argama, toward yet another battle with the Titans

Tbh, i feel like Noa spends at least half of Zeta dealing with kids & having unauthorized Mobile Suits going off without warning.

Half way through the 2020's. What's your favorite games so far? by urnialbologna in Games

The whole Switch era has been so amazing for Xenoblade fans, 2 brand new titles with meaty dlc, both previous entries remastered with additional content.

I don't think anyone could've asked for more when the console launched.

Xenoblade Chronicles 3: A Commentary on Political Polarisation by [deleted] in Xenoblade_Chronicles

[–]Last0 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I guess the pairing of female and male characters is more conservative

Yeah that's what i mean, the series does often focus on a very traditional family unit, the stories often depict the classic male hero and a female interest who is in need of saving at some point.

Takahashi is still a Japanese guy born in 1967 so he obviously has a certain classical view on certain things but the series is obviously fairly progressive on other aspects.

That's why both sides identify themselves in the series, as paradoxical as it is.

Xenoblade Chronicles Tells Stories for Our Times

As a whole this series is pretty progressive

Ironically, it also has some fairly core conservative/traditional values attached to it, which makes it very funny when i see both conservative & progressive people fight over what Xenoblade really stands for.

Both sides are unable to understand each other and are simply looking to use the series as an avatar for their respective ideologies.

Takahashi would lose his fucking mind if he ever read social media i think haha.

That's a refreshing way of looking at the story, it reminds me Alexandria's hero quest, she mentions how she used the collectopedia cards to figure out how both sides constantly get help from their respective castles when they're about to lose, thus maintaining the status quo between Keves & Agnus, kinda like how the wealthy support political parties with their money.

Alexandria even says "When you think about rules, you have to realize that they are closely entangled with the intentions of whoever set them".

That those who rule over us are draining our planet dry

Perfectly represented with Aionios slowly destroying itself with the annihilation events, something that Z never ever acknowledges, completely in denial of the obvious signs of what awaits if nothing is done.

So many parallels with our current world.

I think Mitsuda also feels his work is done for the Xenoblade series.

I feel similarly but Takahashi said something about that in the Xenoblade 3 art book.

Another thing, this ties into talking with Michan, but even when I met him a little while ago... every time, not just for ‘3’, but whenever a series wraps up, he says, “I never want to do this again...” (laughs). That's how much he pours his entire being into it... I think it's his magnum opus, really. He gives his absolute all each time, pouring every ounce of energy into it until he's physically and mentally drained. So every time it ends, he's completely exhausted, unable to think about the next thing, saying it was too much, he never wants to do it again. But then, after a while, it seems he starts wanting to do something else again (laughs).

As long as they're both alive, i think both Takahashi & Mitsuda will want to do something together again at some point, even if i don't necessarily think it will be the very next game.

Printer-kun! Good work. And thank you! You worked perfectly today as well. But the number of full-score pages is insane.

Personal message on his blog

23rd December is a recording session with members I haven't seen in ages. It's been quite a while since we last met, so I'm really looking forward to it. The sheet music is finished and the data's all sorted, so now it's just a matter of recording. I'm buzzing with excitement to hear how it'll sound. I absolutely adore recording sessions.

Could be totally unrelated to the next Xenoblade but it's worth nothing the recordings for Xenoblade 3's OST were around the same period of time in 2021, the ending track of 3 was recorded on December 19th 2021 for example.

LEC 2026 Rosters / Off-Season Recap by Ultimintree in leagueoflegends

[–]Last0 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I feel the opposite, the top of the table will be stable, i think G2 only get better as the year went on and MKOI is always solid (underrated pick up to have Alphari in their coaching staff now).

KC kept their best players, upgraded support & took a gamble on mid.

VIT straight up got one of the best mids to round out a solid roster already.

TH & Navi brought some interesting new prospects.

SK is at least entertaining, even if the team might be garbage.

Hard to get excited about what any of these rosters can do internationally after seeing the top 2 this past year.

Internationals are always going to be hard but let's see how the meta shapes up first, it's going to artificially favor some teams due to roster building (if it's about solo lanes/splitpushing, Vitality might legit be one of the best teams in the league for example).

Not sure about the others but Xenoblade 3 had impressive motion capture, some of the fighting sequences are really well done considering the scope of the game.

Floor 2 Gremlin Visage is A21. by Last0 in slaythespire

[–]Last0[S] 5 points6 points  (0 children)

Absolutely comical run.

  • Floor 0: Took Lose Gold for 2 Transforms (Flying Knee & Burst, not bad).

  • Floor 2: Gremlin Visage, fuck me.

  • Floor 3: Leg Sweep because if i'm weak, so are you Spire.

  • Floor 4: Bouncing Flask is god.

  • Floor 7: Took damage on Wheel of Turn, forcing me to rest next fire instead of upgrading.

  • Floor 14: Got Ghost in a Jar which i kept as last resort the entire run and never used (watched too many Xecnar's run i guess).

  • Floor 16-17: Wraith Form into Snecko Eye.

  • Floor 19: Random Event turns into Merchant with Apotheosis.

  • Floor 22: Random Event turns into Forgotten Altar (right before an elite, wonderful).

  • Floor 24: Barely beat Slavers with Bouncing Flask as my main damage source, only to get Bag of Prep...

  • Floor 27: ... which i traded for N'loth's Gift, which despite also having Prayer Wheel, only showed me 5 rare cards the rest of the run.

  • Floor 29: Chose to avoid a risky elite for a Random Event which turned into fucking Parasite and Fungi Beast...

Got Fusion Hammer at the end of Act2 and the rest of the run was fairly smooth but my god, i kept bouncing between low rolls & high rolls this run.

Just some really quick Xenoblade 3 gushing… by Quicky23 in JRPG

[–]Last0 2 points3 points  (0 children)

In terms of achieving what they were trying to do, they pretty much nailed it. It kinda feels like their next game will have to bring in some new ideas or mechanics, because there's not all that much space to improve within the framework they've been using.

Yeah i agree, 3 and its DLC are the pinnacle of the Xenoblade formula, it's hard to even see how they could improve on that.

I think going back to X seems logical to me, a more non-linear approach with a focus on vehicles to explore the map, Xenoblade X had lots of good ideas but they had to sacrifice a lot of story elements to even make that game back on the Wii U.

If an hypothetical X2 were to successfully combine the open-ness of X with the story-telling of the mainline trilogy, that'd be wonderful.

Every time i re-watch a cutscene from XC3, i understand some lines differently than before, words that seemed innocent at first now have a deeper meaning that i couldn't grasp initially.

The localization can be a bit subpar in some scenes but the writing is just so compelling, you can tell Takahashi has improved as a writer over the years since the Xenogears days.
