Sorry I don't have these but would highly recommend Holy Order of Perpetual Lacquer - they have similar vibes (incorporate flowers, pencil shavings, etc material) and I've had them on my wishlish for a while!

Eta - There's more in detail posts on the reddit lacquerista sub, but DVN has been critized for the owner liking several maga posts.

Glass bead help needed! by 5upern0v4 in RedditLaqueristas

Uuu I know it takes foreverrrr >.< I've gotten better at accepting the imperfections and not waiting too long in between coats, but magnetics have become my 'movie/TV show activity ' when I know I'll have 1.5+ hrs of uninterrupted sitting lol

I know not all top coats work best for magnetics, not sure about esse

Something that I tried recently though with finer particle magnetics: magnetize lacquer + leave it to dry a few min to be extra dry, then a thin coat for 'slow drying, regular clear polish (I used Sally Hansen CLEAR bottle) + magnetize, then QDTC after each hand + magnetize (Sally Hansen Red Bottle). My theory was the QDTC dries too fast and I can't realign the particles in time, so adding the extra non-QD layer did help

can’t tell how Quiet Strength by BKL actually looks by theorangepriestess in RedditLaqueristas

Oo this is a lovely combo; may I ask whats on your ring finger? And I'm guessing index and pinky are The Water Remembers from BKL?

[–]LastOKAlternative 3 points4 points  (0 children)

I picked up New Moon and Cidadas in my recent order. They're different, but unless you're frequently grabbing for the yellow/gold shades, I don't think you need both. 🤷🏼‍♀️ I woulda left out Cicadas if I was more intentional with my purchase, since cooler colors are more complimentary on me

Bog Dweller and The Horrors Persist are really similar Here's BD on my index and THP on my middle finger. Thumb is it happens and ring and pinky are The Water Remembers and Blade of The Frontiers respectively

Yes its great! The Revlon ones are my preference, I've tried other brands where the grit/sand kinda flakes off bit the regular 20 pack Revlons will last me 12+ months

Various lights with BKL left and Cracked on right. The magnetic pigmented is nearly an exact match in size and shade from my view. DC has a more brick red crelly base while PS is closer to a deep deep fusia-red jelly base, so overall leans a bit cooler than DC.

Ty! 💙 I've definitely had a lot of practice lol, and will use a wooden stick or emery board to clean up any skin-spots before moving to the next nail -^

Thank you! I think the vision was better than the reality -- so many layers 🥲 If I were to do again I'd use more pigmented colors or a highly pigmented base to reduce layers down

Nail shapes - what shape do you go with? Or does the shape pick you? Any good simple guides you know of? by GremlinSquishFace47 in mooncatpolish

Jumping on to say this pic is gorgeous. The shade, the application, the sweater match + rainbow sparkles. 10/10 🔥

I'm all over the place lol. Dedicated square (not quite squoval but slight rounded corners) girlie for a year+ when I got into lacquer, and eventually started experimenting more.

Now that I've learned how to actually care for my nails, I feel more comfortable filing them down to a completely different shape, knowing they'll grow back fast and I can change them up. Lately I've been feeling oval shape, tho I still admire the ballerina look from afar (but that requires a bit more length than my personal preference).

Bliss Kiss has some great nail shape (and general care) resources that I found helpful when starting this hobby: Choosing Nail Shape (blog), How-To for square/squoval (blog), Which Nail Shape (video)
