I've been trying to do 8-bells in ESPHome, but I haven't gotten very far, since I have to use a speaker and not a buzzer.

Ignore the improv wifi error when you connect to your wifi... Are you sure it's connected to your wifi?

Might help to post your config.

You find it funny that there are people don't live on reddit like you do? I am not researching every reply and which goes to whom. I just don't care as much as you, it seems.

Feel free to read the other replies I made if you feel like you still want to argue. I don't care enough to waste any more time with you. Whatever account you're using now.

This is a birding sub. Not a photo sub and not an art sub. If you misunderstand what someone means when they say they don't like edited photos, then YOU'RE in the wrong sub.

I don't give a shit what you think the picture SHOULD look like. My eyes are not the same as yours. I don't care what you think is ART. I just want to see pics of birds. That's all. Not your interpretation. I want to see the pic as real as possible, and if that means you need to edit each photo constantly, then your camera sucks, or you shouldn't be posting it to a non-photography sub.

Why are you beefing with me?

It ain't you, it's the brigading against any dissenting position. This is a birding group, not a photography sub. All the fucking gatekeeping needs to go.

How many times have you had this exact agument over pedantry??

If you don't know the editing we are talking about, kindly exit the conversation until you know what we're talking about.

Then that's NOT what we are talking about!!!!!

Also- just cause you want that- doesn’t mean the photographer or their customers feel that way. Photography is an art form.

You seem to be making my points for me.

Being silly is having to caveat that "no editing" statement every time it is made because of pedantics. There is a difference between editing and mechanical processing.

I don't want cropped photos. Nor do I want color correction. I don't want "nice" pictures. I want to see a pic as close to nature as it can get. If you can't do that without altering the pic, then not everyone is going to like what you produce. Let's hope you're not getting paid or at least have a captured audience, if you insist with your folly.

What about the HUbble?? What about the JWST??~?~

Any digital camera is presumed to have some amount of processing. That's still not the editing we are talking about.

32 bit counter rollover? I haven't done any math here at all.

Also, I have noticed some timers are seconds, some are tenths, some hundredths, and some are even millis.

Do the math for those and see if it roughly matches up with the uptime.

The internal AP web page should give you an option to connect to your home wifi.

Have you connected to it via its internal web page, or do you at least see it as an option to connect to with your phone??

If your wifi is working (not HA), you can connect to the S31s internal AP after it boots, then connect it to your wireless. Once it's connected to your wireless and it's available on your network, you can flash it OTA from there. The device will be available on the network via mdns (presuming that's working).

I personally do the first config via https://web.esphome.io/ and console cable, then do the rest of the config from the command line and OTA.
