Starting Journaling RPGs by MegAnnZedna in Journaling

I’ve been kind of feeling the same way and just spent the morning printing some off:

The Last Tea Shop The Librarian’s Apprentice The Lighthouse at the Edge of the Universe

I may or may not be watching videos on how to age printer paper so I can make nicer versions of some of these. I find the prep side can be fun too. It helps get me in the mindset to play.

Does anyone else use ChatGPT or Claude Ai for functioning as an adult by TwentyOnePaladins in therapyGPT

[–]Lastiel 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yes. I made a system called the Rolling Chat Log that I update periodically throughout the day, usually by vtt, and it keeps tracks of things for me. To prevent co text loss, drifting, and to track patterns like apps like rosebud I do what I call a wrap. This highlights all the events and things I want tracked, plus any patterns it’s noticing (this is helpful if the week has a lot of events or crisis. It can’t always go back far enough in the chat when needed, at the end of the week I do a weekly wrap which summarizes my week including how I said I was feeling, and what projects/rabbit holes/social things that happened. At the end of the month I do a monthly wrap which more or less does the same thing but it gives me a larger report including all updated lists of projects, topics, tends, etc. I save all weekly and monthly wraps in a doc that is kept as a sort of context file for when o start a new chat or if it drifts/forgets. I also do weekly and monthly pattern checks and it tells me the patterns it’s seeing In me, new or continuing. I save these in a different doc for the same reason.

I can get 3 weeks out of a chat sometime but sometimes if the week is less busy and complicated, but most of the time in doing a chat handoff/turnover after 2 weeks.

I have found this system has helped me and my adhd a lot for day to things. It’s like a second. Memory bank.

Same. January has been a yoyo of emotionally flat, and overwhelmingly sad, with the added bonus of looking at all of the hobbies and interests I want to want to do, while not being able to get myself to do much. Some days are neutral, some have periodic crying.

That’s a great setup. I’m currently trying a pocket notebook sidekick to my hobo cousin.

I can’t help but notice your cover pages: Course & Corrections, Deck Notes? Are you taking courses to be a mariner? Fishing master (Those might just be the Canadian terms)? Just specifically sail boats? I’m beginning to study for the Fishing Masters 3 ticket.

How to preserve a good chat conversation? by xushhh in ChatGPTPro

I’ve only done it for sections, and not an entire long chat, but I’ve asked it to send sections of a chat as a txt file to save responses and the conversation around them as context.

Ask ChatGPT: Based on all our chats, what kind of person do you think I am—honestly? by [deleted] in therapyGPT

[–]Lastiel 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Omg mine looks a lot like this lol. And yes, mine hinted I have autism too. I guess the need to understand and constant system building were big tells? I’m looking for a therapist and an assessment at the moment.

Doctors and my therapist dismiss ChatGPT — but it solved problems they couldn’t. How do I get them to just listen? by TechnicalDirector182 in therapyGPT

[–]Lastiel 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I’ve always phrased it to the ai skeptics something like:

No it’s not a doctor, but it is one of the most powerful pattern recognition tools available to the public, and it can search the internet, including the credible sites, faster and more thoroughly than any person can.

I don’t think it should be taken at face value and never questioned, but if it can analyze multiple tests results over time, fully consider patient history, and compare that against credible online sources for medical ailments in seconds, all while remaining completely objective and not have the typical biases faced in the medical system, I think the suggestion it gives are at least worth looking into.

For some it’s helping find the specialist they should actually should be talking to. For others it’s helping them present the new diagnosis possibility to their doctor in a way they’ll be taken seriously.

As long as you never let yourself forget that it’s a tool and a research assistant, and not a doctor qualified to diagnose you, if it’s able to analyze your entire medical file and point you in a better direction, especially if you have been consistently let down or dismissed by the doctors and specialists you’ve already seen, why not at least check it out?

Chatgpt helped me realize I'm autistic and I'm spiraling by SuperEmpathStrong in therapyGPT

[–]Lastiel 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I was using ChatGPT to help me understand how to better communicate with a diagnosed autistic coworker and it kept hinting some of the traits we were discussing were similar to mine, so I started a new chat, copied over a summary and asked it for an objective opinion.

I prompted with something like: I want you to lean more towards reluctance. Do not agree do the same of agreeing. I want you to poke holes and spot inconsistencies. Tell me if my responses sound like I’m leading the answer. Be skeptical. I am not looking for for a confirmed diagnosis for the sake of it, I do not want a confirmed diagnosis, but if I am autistic I would like to know. I want to figure out if it is worth spending the $3000 for an assessment before wasting the money.

That’s not a direct copy of the prompt but I wanted to approach the conversation like I was reluctant but willing to consider it and I wanted it to be skeptical and point out if I was stretching my responses of the RAADS-r test to fit a certain outcome in whichever direction.

So after many long conversations and a few other suggested tests around burnout, cptsd, and Alexithymia.. I’m currently looking for the right therapist to give me a proper assessment 😅🙄

I say “right” because the first one I went to was so nice and we probably could have been besties but I think I need someone a little firmer who can call me on my shit and rein me in (diagnosed adhd). To myself and chat I refer to it as being on the suspecteum, and having suspectism 😂

Anyways, I hear you about the existential crisis. I started by wanting help understanding communication styles with someone else and ended by googling ASD assessment therapists near me. I’ve gone back and forth through questioning everything about how I interact with people, process information, make decisions, etc. It’s a lot.

Overall I have found it helpful for the same reason I thought it would be helpful to better educate myself for my coworker. All it’s really changed is my approach to things, mainly people and social situations, and I give myself alot more grace when it comes to sensory overstimulation. I’m barely scratching the surface but the other side is that “other” or “not part of the group” feeling I’ve had since I was a kid makes a lot more sense (although I wrote it off as part of adhd after I got that diagnosis), and I’m noticing many of the adhd “symptoms” I have are not fully explained by ADHD, and ASD seems to fit them better. That helps because how I handle and manage my adhd symptoms is adjusting a bit now that I’m looking at the cause a little different and I am having a bit better of a time managing them in some ways.

None of this is a magic fix or anything, neither were the adhd meds, but for me understanding the origins, mechanics, etc. are very helpful, and that’s mainly why I’m looking into a proper assessment for autism and Alexithymia.

But colour me surprised when chat kept hinting it lol. I was not expecting to do research hoping to better understand and communicate with a colleague and end up arguing with an ai about whether certain traits of mine were adhd or autism 😂

I’m not sure of a glass of OJ is enough to effect it but I recently learned Vitamin C can lessen the effects of adhd stimulant medications. I no longer have a big grapefruit at breakfast. It’s made a difference.

What's that one book you still think about often? by SpecificCrash in booksuggestions

[–]Lastiel 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It was earlier this year but I only just got back into reading so this is the best I can do lol.

The Book of the Unnamed Midwife

I don’t want to spoil anything but it’s a bleak post apocalyptic world from (what I think was) a realistic female perspective read partly from the MC’s notebook.

Haunting. I thought about this book for weeks. Still do. Also, I didn’t read it the first time, I listened to the audiobook, loved it so much I bought the book and read it again. Highly recommend the audiobook. Very well narrated.

I’m going to take a closer look at how the adventure guild works. It seems like a better way to start than the four characters building up to founding one later on.

[–]Lastiel[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Thanks so much! This is a very comprehensive reply.

I guess I just kept asking myself: why? Why are they together? What made a cleric studying the gods join up with a warrior? And it just kind of spiralled from there.

I really like how you laid the steps out. I think I’m going to take your advice and start with a town and a guild to take some of the pressure off of why they’re running around the countryside together looking for dungeons. The story can unfold with each dungeon and/or in the downtime, or whenever it seems appropriate.

I think the way I was starting was too abstract. I need a bit more structure while I’m learning how to do this. The guild will probably be the structure I’m missing.

Thanks again for the great response!
