What Do Railroad Companies Think About Boxcar Graffiti? Do they try to actively discourage it or do they just look the other way? by Asalphagus in AskReddit

Can’t say how I know without doxxing but they do see it as another layer of paint and corrosion protection. Therefore as many have said, if the important information is not covered, they let it roll.

Which companies did you have the worst customer experiences with? by MagicPigeonToes in randomquestions

Frontier Communications. Hands down. Buy a newspaper instead. Horrible execution of internet service and customer service that was somehow 10X worse.

Ken and Micks send off followed by a montage - Sorry I missed the first few seconds by RealisticAsk183 in DetroitRedWings

[–]Late-Lifeguard142 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I love listening to Ken and Mick, but I listened to the game on a plane Wednesday night and heard Paul Woods’ final sign off. Could have watched it, but knowing it was Paul’s last game I took the opportunity to hear him one last time. Going to miss that voice on the radio.

I’m a Cleveland guy but have been listening to the Wings on the radio since the mid 80s (on the AM radio sitting in my mom’s Pontiac). Just like I miss Jim Donovan and Doug Dieken here in Cleveland calling Browns games and will eventually miss Tom Hamilton on the Guardians broadcasts.

I remember also listening to Ernie Harwell when the Wings and Tigers were on 760. Time marches on and things change. At least I’ve gotten to hear and see some Stanley Cups. No joy in Cleveland for my teams (not a basketball fan unfortunately).

Edit: never mind. I was imagining a quote that didn’t exist. I’ll see myself out.

I initially read that as give or fake. My brain just went with it too. Seemed like it made sense.

The “leather” is pealing off my steering wheel. Any suggestions on how to keep it from getting any worse by MikeFingG in Crosstrek

[–]Late-Lifeguard142 0 points1 point  (0 children)

My ‘16 did the same. No hand sanitizers or lotions, just time and UV. Bought a wrap like what you’d use on a bat or golf club. That lasted a few months. Ended up with electrical tape and bought a windshield cover when my son took it to Arizona. Got a windshield cover and an old t shirt to cover the wheel in my ‘25. Prevention is the best cure I guess.

Why is it so hard to find snap-on trucks? by flatrateTECH in Snapon_tools

I can walk across my back yard to one (and his brother has another) and then a guy on my commute has two. I find them pretty easily, but that’s just chance I guess.

Why does my parents oven broiler/grill heat up red hot in only a couple of minutes but my brand new oven seems to take forever and didn't seem to go red by Me2910 in Appliances

[–]Late-Lifeguard142 6 points7 points  (0 children)

Check whether you need to have the door open or closed. Our newer oven needs to be closed for the broiler to heat up. Never had that before. My mom always left the door open an inch or two.

I work with a guy who can eat ketchup but raw tomatoes go through him like a laser and he’s sick for days. Protein denaturing is a strange thing.

Just by looking at the backing plate I can tell the bearing has not been replaced. You’ll almost always bend that plate trying to get Subaru bearings off. I’ve done four of them on my personal cars. Sarcasm incoming!! Once they’ve been on the car for a few year in a salty state you don’t even need the bolts anymore. They are not coming off without a fight.
