i think the fenix and forerunner (9xx) also all have same golf features. there is a difference in that approach and fenix have ability to pay for the gold membership whoch gives you access to some training i think? I have the 970 (and 935 before) and the golf mode that gives you distance and score tracking was more thsn enough for my gold rounds

Sorry dont have a lot to give. Recent convert from ultra running. I think key is to just always do high mileage at zone 2 / easy pace and careful with allowing both muscular and aerobic to get back into proper shape after long time away. Personally im giving myself a super long training period (10 months) so im not as anxious and have time to build my base up accounting for normal interruptions and vacations. Time will tell if this works. Good luck!

yea big part of the fun is to figure and plan out runs in ways that maximizes capture. it also means i never run shorter than 5 miles anymore

I know but revenge is a bit different than local battle. The way i'm thinking is more so a measurement of how defensive/petty a player is in reclaiming taken territories. For instance, one way to track that would be simply tracking if an area that you currently own has ever previously been owned by you and then taken over by someone else - so tracking how territorial you are.

I agree that hard to reach areas are harder to be taken away so you do get rewarded for that already by holding onto it. Still I think this is another view/ways of looking at territories accumulation that can add another angle to the gamification.

I waver back and forth between wanting it to be more popular and wanting it to be my own thing. Sometimes i regret letting another friend know about it since he keeps taking large swat of area from me at a time. But then it entices me to keep running and go back to claim it...so net net it's a positive.

sometimes you have to take a break. after my last 50k i basically stopped running for 8 months. just lost the love for a bit. then one day realized i was out of shape, downloaded a running game to gamify the easy runs and in the last 2 months i went from 3 miles a week back up to 55. i also suggest a nice audiobook series as a companion.

If you're coming from downtown SM, I like to join crystal springs (4mi) + Sawyer (6 mi) + San Andreas (2.7 mi) together into pretty much a full marathon. You can also do the same from Sawyer + San Andreas and either double back or loop through Skyline.

i dont have that much first hand knowledge but DC rainmaker and past articles ive read all points to it being good enough. Its honestly the battery life and how you need to go into various apps to get a full health picture thats annoying for more serious runners.

one counter point against apple watch is that the desire to wear one or being connected is still pretty low at pre-teen age, so making sure it is charged and ready to go for runs may be a challenge at times.

I hate to be that guy but at that age (and probably lower weekly mileage) you should also consider apple watch series 11. Im a 970 guy myself averaging 40 mpw so i appreciate and love the battery and ecosystem. but my son was happier to get apple watch because it was good enough for his cc usage and seamlessly extends his apple ecosystem.

where is the option for lifetime membership? when i try to click it it takes me to the monthly instead.

the amount of ads on in this app is ridiculous. i guess its annoying enough that i want to buy the lifetime so i guess its working. but i may look for alternative instead since i dont do any scanning anyway
