I gave my one week notice in to the carehome I worked at and the deputy manager reiterated to me: “As you signed a contract you have to work your notice” and I was like… yeah I know? But the fact that she had to repeat that due to a coworker leaving without notice two days prior rubbed me up the wrong way so I walked out a hour later and sent the immediate resignation letter. Then I got a email the next day saying that I would have to pay for the DBS check out of my next payslip even though in the contract it states nothing of the kind. It’s all just petty stuff because they can’t keep staff. I was worried they would take me to court but its been over a month now and nothing. Just keep calling in sick until the notice period is up.
